Dear readers,

I'm looking for a nice place to stay for 8 nights in South Thailand which is located on a central island to be able to visit Koh Phi Phi, Phuket, James Bond Island, but where there is also plenty to see in the area. Would like a place to stay affordable and immediately by the sea.

We also plan to go to Khao Sok national park to do a 2 day trip there. Is it best to book this in advance (if so, someone recommends it) or on site? I'm going with my best friend so we would like to join a group.

Who has tips?

Thanks in advance,

Jess

Go to Phuket, Baan Malinee is the best bb in Thailand (tripadvisor)(www.bedandbreakfastinphuket.com. Not directly on the beach but a free shuttle is provided to a quiet beach just like on the postcard. and spoiled. The owners are a Belgian/Thai couple
Phuket is the best base for Phi phi and james bond. In Phuket you will find both bustle and peace, depending on where you stay

So you see that times change. Not so long ago, such questions were asked to the employees of the then numerous travel agencies and now to the readers of Thailand Blog. Incidentally, Krabi, with a lot of hotels right on the sea, is also ideally located to visit Phi Phi and James Bond island.

Yes, now that the travel agencies are closing because the internet is taking over, we can enjoy these kinds of questions here on this blog. With the general low point where can I find a good restaurant on…..
Shiphol is close to Amsterdam…. at least you can still get on the plane.
    Safe journey…

http://www.katavilla.com reservation via website 480 Baht (May-Sept) per room per night. If you cross the road you are on the beach. One of the waitresses speaks Dutch.

    Dear Jesse,

as a resident of the South I would say: Krabi. Here you have many options and it is a great base for day trips.
James Bond Island? You probably mean James Bond Rock…. you can watch it from the beach or sail around by boat…. possibly a bit disappointing and could not be one of the highlights of a trip through Thailand for me.
