Reader question: Looking for tips for Ubon Ratchatani
Dear readers,
We, my wife and I son his wife and 9 year old their daughter are in Ubon Ratchatani for 4 days at the beginning of July, the actual purpose of the stay is to visit family (our daughter-in-law is Thai) but it is quite possible that we will not be in her every day want to be village.
If there are readers who have a good tip to spend a day, I would like to hear it.
We have a fairly broad interest,
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jan
Hello Jan and family.
You may find your information on the following site: http://www.weloveubon.com.
Here you will find what to do and also mansions and/or hotels with very reasonable prices.
Have fun there.
Fr.gr.
Wim
Jan, the site is not up to date. Was maintained years ago by an American who lived here.
But the general information is of course still correct.
Gr peter ubon city
Dear Jan,
I would go to the 2 colored river for a day. That is where the Mekhong and the Mon River meet.
The village is beautiful and there is a beautiful white temple. I also rented a scooter there and drove around a lot. A day trip to Mukdahan? Near Mukdahan is a beautiful temple, called The Great Chedi, which is worth a visit. You can find it through google.
I wish you a nice holiday there
computing
Dear compuding, the great chedi you mean is in Roi Et almost on the border of Mukdahan.
Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkol. Nong Phok, Roi Et. For me personally one of the most beautiful
temples of Thailand. Tranquility, nature and architecture. This temple is still under construction but each
visit it looks more fun. Definitely take the highest staircase (turning staircase 15m high).
Have fun, Roy
From July 11 there is the candle festival. A kind of parade with images on large carriages in white and honey colored wax. The images are made in the various temples and displayed in the center. During the day the cars are placed inside because otherwise the wax would melt, but in the evening you can stroll past them. This year from July 11 to July 16. On July 12, there are dance demonstrations in the center, from 8 am to 12 am. A place must be reserved for this. Very worthwhile.
have fun
Unfortunately, the question I drafted hastily contains some spelling/style errors, for which I apologise.
Despite the necessary useful tips in response, thank you.
We will jointly go through the material provided, it is a pity that July 11 has already moved on, because otherwise the candle festival would certainly have ended up on the program.
We hope for a nice holiday
Thank you all again for your efforts and we wish you a good time
Sincerely,
John Hagen..
