Dear readers,

I was due to travel to Thailand on October 15th with Sandbox program from Phuket. Now I have read that one should stay alone in the hotel room every night.

Can't my Thai vaccinated girlfriend stay in the room with me, or should she book another room?

Regards,

Stevens willy (BE)

As far as I have been able to determine in the regulations and based on the experiences of others on social media – including the Facebook group 'Phuket Sandbox' with over 15.000 members – this is no problem at all. Possibly on the day of arrival, because you then have to remain isolated in your hotel room until the results of the test are received on arrival.

To be clear: 'no problem at all' obviously refers to staying together in the same room.

No problem. I myself was in July in Paripas Patong resort close to the sea. There are 2 in Patong. Wasn't any problem. Have seen many couples there. Super service, nice location, two swimming pools, and that for 10000 bath for 14 days without breakfast.

John, thank you for your detailed answer. Is it true that Paripas Patong Resort is about 350 meters from the sea? If so, then I know I've found the right one. Then also a not unimportant question: if you bring a friend to the room, do you have to pay extra for it?

No problem. I am there myself from October 5 and have made inquiries and also received confirmation from the hotel.
