Home » Reader question » Thailand question: Good hotel with swimming pool in the center of Bangkok?
Dear readers,
We are going to Hua Hin in Thailand again in April and May. In Hua Hin we stay in the Anantasila. Now we are looking for a good hotel with swimming pool in Bangkok which is located in the center. Anyone suggestions?
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Victor

Lohas Suites, neat hotel close to skytrain. Rooms are clean, large and unaffected by the environment. There is a nice swimming pool and a good gym on the roof. Price is also great.
Indraregent is located in the pleasant Pratunam district and has a nice swimming pool.
Only breakfast is very disappointing but the location has many options so have breakfast somewhere outside!
Lots of shops around and a short walk to Platinum where you can buy everything.
Easton makasan hotel is a good and beautiful hotel with a nice swimming pool on the 13th floor
Are always there when we are in Bangkok.
Going there for the 5th time in October
Dear Martin,
The Eastin Makkasan hotel is no longer there, it is now located near the airport.
The Eastin thana city resort I thought.
Too bad, was a nice hotel.

Nana hotel soi 4 Sukhumvit road but this hotel is located in the red zone. Ask the new rooms. Breakfast was very good but it's been 2020 since I slept there due to corona. 5 minutes walk to Nana bts skytrain station. Not bothered by the noise.

Ibis Styles Bangkok Sukhumvit4
Not for light sleepers! I could hardly sleep a wink because of the automatically closing room doors.
Hello Victor,
Pinnacle hotel in Bonkai, near the metro and around the corner from Lumpini Park.
Good hotel with excellent buffets and not expensive.
And swimming pool and gym on the roof.
Success.
Regards Adrian
Rambutri Hotel right in the center next to khaosan road with a nice swimming pool on the roof with bar. In the middle of the entertainment area but quiet at night.. Street full of nice restaurants on average 650 bath per night I always stay there the first 4 days when I am in Thailand be back
Top hotel especially if you want to be near Kao San Road and like the backpackers atmosphere. Good bus connections to airports. Do book the superior
(or luxury) rooms….
I would most definitely recommend the Carlton Hotel. 5 minutes walk from BTS Asok located at Sukhumvit. Beautiful swimming pool… lovely spacious rooms and a very good breakfast buffet.
I residence in Silom district. Swimming pool on the roof with a view of the King power Maha Nakhon building. In April/May you have pretty good promotions…
Eleven hotel Sukhumvit soi11.
We're here right now and it's beautiful.
Swimming pool on the 9th floor and breakfast with a view of the city.
Regards John M.
S31 hotel, on the Sukhumvit corner soi 31.. beautiful swimming pool.. close to shopping mall Emporium and Emdistrict, close to BTS (skytrain) and MRT (metro) close to a large park (just before Emporium.. NL rest./pub Hang Over soi 22 and diagonally opposite (approx. 250 meters) Penalty Spot corner soi 29 rest.pub with English football matches downstairs on several TVs and screens on Saturdays, German football upstairs on several TVs.Other days live music in the evenings.
Soi Cowboy soi 23, at the Asoake entrance, 2 large pubs with live music.. Good luck..
Novotel platinum
Ibis Hotel Riverside. Perfect hotel, with pool on the river. Clean, good breakfast, polite staff and not expensive!
Royal Rattanakosin Hotel. Rstchdamnoen av 2.
An older hotel, with a swimming pool on the roof of the second floor, a pleasant old style international lounge and a nice Chinese restaurant, although I have never encountered any Chinese people there. To my taste, nice luxury rooms and very friendly priced when you book digitally at least a few days in advance. Think between 2 and 22 dollars per night. In my experience, it is ideally located in the heart of BKK. within walking distance (29-5 min) of Wat Po, Royal Palace and Kaosan Rd and surroundings. I think I've stayed there at least 10 times in the last 20 years.
Have a nice stay and a good trip!
The Prime@Rangnam. 10 min walk to BTS Victory Monument, approx 15 min to ARL Ratchaprarop. 3/4 *, rooftop pool, extensive breakfast and price of the hotel is not too crazy.
If it's really about swimming, I'd take the Ambassador hotel, Sukhumvit 11.
The only hotel in Bangkok with an (almost) Olympic size swimming pool (so don't turn around after 2-3 strokes) and otherwise quite a good and reasonably priced hotel.
Royal Orchid Sheraton and Towers, located in the heart of Bangkok on the Chao Praya. I've stayed there several times. Nice rooms, nice view, good location . KLM staff sleep in this hotel.
Great location to visit Bangkok far with the river taxi. My favorite hotel in Bangkok. Have fun!
Oh what is good…
a clean hotel with swimming pool and breakfast can be found quickly and at special prices out of season when you come for 15 - 20 euros per night.
So the right question and perhaps something to take with you.. how will you continue your journey… do you want close to further transport a hotel or a nice one in a central part of the city.. or is a location near a transport center (think metro sky train airport shuttle or boat) an acceptable or nice solution…
You can take the shuttle and then the sky train for about 80 to 100 baht (2 euros per person) to get to a nicely located central location from the international airport. So take a hotel there.
Going
The question is actually what and where do you want .. super luxury can also be a bit more expensive .. and then think of average hotel price in Europe
I myself usually never pay Al's 25 euros for 2 persons kramer and have not yet found a bad hotel. Something that is a beetle over kill for a holiday, but it might be nice to experience it sometime..
Take this with you and think about which area you want to spend the night and from where you will continue your journey.
Some areas are described in detail in articles on this site
Maybe if you like it a must .. hotel on the River with its own boat service (free for guests) from the metro station on the river .. fully equipped and therefore beautifully situated as well as all luxury .. but this one is a bit more affordable priced t ” Menam river side hotel”… often with offers oo agoda.. an asian booking site,
Have fun in Thailand!
Subject: swimming pool. I always walk around it. But isn't a comfortable bed what you want first? Big problem in Thailand. Not being able to sleep because of a rock hard mattress is number 1 problem for me. I read Pinnacle. Slept for years until they put wooden beds with no comfort. Swimming pool is nothing. Most large hotels simply have nice swimming pools. Grand Mercure Atrium, wonderful beds, new bathrooms, good facilities and swimming pool. Of course I remember all hotels with good beds in Asia. Maybe it's time to publish it
I have been going to the Prince Palace with family of 5 for years and with great pleasure. Super centrally located and there are also 3 very big plus points: the Suites (you have to book), an entire apartment with 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, living room and American kitchen) and the breakfast (seen nowhere else) and the pool bar / swimming pool with view over BKK. In recent years I have heard some complaints about annoying staff and outdated (unmaintained) rooms, but I do not know in 2023 how this really works.
