Dear readers,

Can someone tell me what the vaccination procedure is for Thai nationals? How is this arranged? By province? By place of birth? Automatic invitation, etc?

My Thai girlfriend (50 years old) living in Non Prue, but coming from Roi Et, is sent from pillar to post!

Regards,

Michel

Where is your girlfriend domiciled? In which village is she registered in her “housebook” (tabian job)?

There she is entitled to a free vaccination from the government. First register at the local town hall and register for vaccination. Then wait for her turn.

In most provinces and municipalities, they start vaccinating the oldest and the people with serious underlying conditions and obesity.

My the municipality where my wife still lives in a neighboring province of Prae was able to register from the beginning of May. Vaccination started in July. This week they are vaccinating the 50 to 55 year olds there. First shot Sinovac, second shot Astra Zenaca.

You can also register via various websites of the Thai government. On Thailandblog you can read that success is not always guaranteed.

Registration and payment in advance for Moderna is possible in private hospitals. When the vaccines will arrive is unclear and whether there will be enough as well.

From the experience of people I know personally, I know that in some Northern Thai military hospitals, AZ vaccines were put in place for a fee (fluctuating rate) in May and June. I don't know if that is still the case.

      Thank you Marc!
The problem, however, is that she is not allowed to travel to Roi Et at the moment!
