Dear readers,

Does anyone have any further information on what the current situation is with Thai Airways? Read nothing about it in the Bangkok Post or The Nation. Have 2 more vouchers valid until the end of 2022!

Hi, we have not heard anything else, but we have booked our tickets with Thai Airways for 16/12/2021 and the tickets have also been approved, but wait and see how everything is then.

    Dear Theo,

The news about Thai Airways is indeed brief. It has to do with the fact that they have been working on rehabilitation for a long time. This means that they are close to bankruptcy, but are trying to get debt relief from most of the shareholders. This is quite a complicated process and they will try to restart (since 51% is from the government), so I can't say what the impact of this is on your airline tickets.

Yes also have 2 plane bookings
The first is now scheduled for December 2
on the one hand, I don't know if they fly
and if they fly it is to bangkok with 16 days of quarantine
I would rather change this with a flight to Frankfurt and then to Phuket for 2 weeks
but contact with thai airways in brussels is not possible

Well disappointed in the handling of our refund at Thai airways, it has been booked via skyscanner for a year and a half now for this my trip, we would fly from Amsterdam with Sas to Helsinki in July last year and from there with Thai airways
Thai airways has changed the date 2x due to the COVID conditions, eventually the trip had to be cancelled. Walking that road was also quite a hassle.

To make a long story short, since January 2020, an amount of € 3300 has been paid for the family whose trip would take place in July 2020.
To date, Thai airways has defaulted, finally we had to transfer the case into the hands of legal aid, miss casey specialist in aviation claims has been working on it since November 2020.
Always flown with Eva air and China we thought to choose this route for a change to our great regret.
I hope for you that the flight is carried out

    Succes

How did you pay then? If you have paid via Paypal, Mastercard or Visa, there is a good chance that you can claim that there was no delivery. This must be done within 180 days (Paypal). The term Mastercard and Visa use depends on the issuer of the card, which can be between 180 and 365 days.

Hope it helps, although you've already handed over the matter.

What you say is completely correct Dennis, I have always paid with my credit card in the past, but now I have paid that amount via ideal.
My sister-in-law, on the other hand, has paid via her credit card in England and she has had her money back without any problems.
Through reviews I have read good messages from miss casey, but it takes a bit long but the results are successful
So we have no choice but to wait patiently
Thanks for your tip and response

Do I understand correctly that you did not book with Thai Airways, but through such a ticket trade? In that case you must give them notice of default, and not the airline…

      • Maikel says up

Well Cornelis legal aid knows what to do with his specialized lawyers Thai airways has been declared in default by them they are the executors and not the intermediary if that was the case miss casey would have held them liable

Under the Business Rehabilitation plan, THAI is operating to resolve and improve its business structure as well as to generate revenue from non-air businesses and continually reduce expenses such as restructuring and downsizing the organization and cutting down operating costs in other areas. THAI aims to maintain financial liquidity and seek for new loans until the airline industry situation resumes to its normal operation.

According to the last message, some time ago: Thai Airways flies back to Brussels from October 02, Saturday and Thursday, if nothing changes of course.

  7. Mark says up

On Google flights, the first flight BRU-BKK is on Thursday, November 4, 2021.
Booking is possible, no doubt also pay 🙂
Whether they will actually fly is unclear.
Whether and when you will see your money back if they do not fly remains the question.

There is an old Dutch proverb that says, you cannot pluck feathers from a bald chicken.
I'm afraid this also applies to Thai airways.
