Test & Go and second PCR test?
Dear readers,
The second PCR test at Test and Go entry Thailand. With the Test and Go program that has now ended, a PCR test is taken immediately upon arrival. If the result is negative, you may leave the hotel. But you still have to undergo a second test. My hotel gave me a note where I can have that second test taken. All in the same region.
But how does that work if you travel to your home in another part of the country? Just have such a test taken somewhere or is it a closed circuit so can you only have the test taken at one of the designated hospitals?
does anyone know?

A second (free) pcr test can only be taken at a designated location.
In my case the government hospital in Nathon on Koh Samui.
On arrival (between 5-7 days after the first test) you must hand in the pink form that is given to you upon arrival in Thailand and a copy of your passport, on which the address and telephone number are stated.
The test is taken and the result is called 1-2 days later. If the result is positive then sooner. If the second test is taken after 7 days, you have to pay. On Samui this is thb1200

List of hospitals all over Thailand. In principle, I think every state hospital participates and also the necessary private hospitals (but not all of course).
That too is an adventure. On thailandblog you will find a link in a message to a list of test addresses, usually hospitals. It took us three days to complete. Report to hospital from the list on the first day, fill in papers there at stop 1. Denied at stop 2 and we had to go to the hospital of the district where we are staying. Arrived there, test unit closed and next day at 8 am there. Testing started at 10 am, we succeeded. Call the next day for results and also collect the results on paper at the hospital. It works and it is nice if someone speaks Thai with you. It works, but all kinds of surprises in documents and waiting times. Good luck
Hi John, test and go works like this, from the airport you will be taken to your hotel, where a PCR test will be done and you will know the result the next morning. You can leave if you are negative, then take a quick test in 6 days that they do not look at. Then when you go home, take another PCR test 48 hours or less before departure. You will know the result the next day. Can be done near where you stay. Have fun there.

Hi Conrad, not quite my experience. What Ronald writes above is more in line with what I now know. When I left the hotel I received a piece of paper with some hospitals written on it. I was told by the hotel that I had to have a PCR test taken at one of those hospitals. The telephone numbers of each hospital were written on a piece of paper. But a few times I got on the phone with a Thai who spoke an apparently pre-rehearsed English text. It went something like this: call the hospital. The phone number was, I think, the doctor's private practice or personal number. And the horn went up. I called the hospitals on the list after looking up telephone numbers. If they did answer, the call was simply disconnected after a few transfers. A hospital reported that they no longer did it. Finally, with the help of a Thai relation, I managed to reach one of the hospitals on the list. The message was: you can come, but it is also free to enter. So expect to wait a few hours. I am now hesitating between simply having a PCR test taken at a commercial institution. But I now see that there are apparently lists of these hospitals, so my list is just one choice.

I also traveled to day 1, now I'm in Pai. I just did a 2nd pcr test myself. There is also only 1 hospital in Pai and they knew nothing. I have the impression that the 2nd test is not checked at all. Haven't had to show any evidence yet.

Marcel, that's an interesting thought. I don't have my own transportation at the moment. My car is a day's journey away. The test is therefore a costly affair, especially if it only succeeds at a great distance. After about half a day of being sent from pillar to post, the thought occurred to me to either just not do it or take a PCR test that I pay for. I have had a PCR test done many times now and I now know where I can easily go. Especially if you tell them when booking that you need it regularly. Just not doing it is the easiest way. This is sometimes a not uncommon possibility in Thailand. Think of all kinds of notifications that you can ignore with impunity.
When booking the hotel, you must also indicate where you are going after the negative PCR test. I assume that the second test will also be taken there.
Jos, what you say is correct. Upon departure, after the first PCR test, I received a list of hospitals near my place of residence (travel time of at least 50 minutes), but read how I could not make ends meet with that.
In Hua Hin it is perfectly arranged. After arrival in Bangkok the Pcr test in the hotel. Negative so the next day to Hua Hin. Googled on the internet. Every university hospital and state hospital takes the free test. Some private hospitals/clinics too. In Prachouapkirikan none participate. On day 5 drove to Hua Hin Hospital. There is a large tent directly in front of the entrance with a clear statement test and go with 6/7 employees. Fill in the form, everything is checked a few times. Then test. Everything was arranged within fifteen minutes. The next day we were able to collect the results. You will receive a stamped and signed statement. This was arranged within a few minutes.
What can be confusing is that many hospitals are commercial. For example, the Bangkok hospital and the San paulo hospital do not participate. They do take paid tests, which are absurdly expensive, by the way. Moral of the story just go to a state hospital (just google it and you'll find out in no time)
The 2nd test done at a location I chose from the list.
Handed in a pink piece of paper and picked up the paper statement the next day and later filled in the result in the Mrochana app and uploaded the statement.
We entered the country on January 10. Pcr test taken and the results the day later. We were only given two self-tests by the customer of the first pcr test. No letters or anything like that. We simply do the self-tests on day 7 and no more complicated PCR tests. I suspect no one is looking at it or checking it. Before returning to NL, we do a rapid test at the airport.

You should have received the pink carbon copy.
The hotel staff is not aware of the changed rules
