Home » Reader question » Reader Question: What is the fastest way to travel from Bangkok to Don Mueang?
Dear readers,
What is the fastest way to get from the center of Bangkok (near Nana/Klong Thoei) to Don Mueang airport and how long does it take by taxi/bus/shuttle?
Don't know if it matters but need to be at airport Thursday morning around 10am.
Yours faithfully,
Johan
By taxi you are there in 40 minutes!!!
Take a taxi on time. You can also take the skytrain to Mo Chit station, which takes 15 minutes and from there a short taxi ride. [about 20 minutes]
Skytrain nana – chatuchak and take a taxi there..
Take the BTS at Nana station and go to Mo Chit terminal station. Here take the bus number A1 to Dom Muang. The bus is on the Chatuchak park side, all the way to the right when you come down the steps there. You are at the airport in 15 minutes and you do not suffer from traffic jams! Cost bus: 30 Baht. Have a nice trip!
depends on where you come from John
As far as I know the bts is faster
30 min
Hi Raymond, as stated earlier I am near Nana/Klong Toei skytrain station.
Pls thanks everyone for the comments!
The fastest is all the way by taxi via toll road. Slightly cheaper BTS to Mo Chit and exit 1 or 3 (are you in the right direction) and hail a driving taxi there (the taxis that are standing still are unpleasant).
First precondition: taking (un)expected traffic jams into account or not?
Flat tire of the taxi or assume that everything is fine? ?
Normally: an hour with a meter taxi, but…
Just get up on time and leave.
Johan, you asked about the fastest way to get to Don Mueang and not the cheapest way.
Without a doubt I would then opt for a taxi and let it take the expressway (toll road). To first go to BTS station Nana with your luggage and then take a bus from Mo Chit to the airport, of course also costs travel and waiting time. I don't know the frequency of bus A1 but I don't assume it leaves every 5 minutes. Moreover, it is of course much easier to get into a taxi with luggage directly from your hotel / apartment than to drag it through Bangkok.
My unsolicited advice is to take plenty of time for the trip to Don Mueang, why should you be in a hurry in Thailand. You prevent stress and if you are too early you can still enjoy a nice cup of coffee or something like that. Have a nice trip!
Now, it couldn't be more clear, everyone recommends the Skytrain.
For your information; they are busy extending this route to Lak-Si, Don Muang and Rangsit.
If everything goes well, you can from 2016, from the center directly to Lak-Si (immigration) and to Don Muang (airport).
To be clear: I think there are also people who recommend the taxi. I do, by the way.
Dear reader
The cheapest way by skytrain to suvarnaphum airport and by free bus to Don Muang airport.
Have fun traveling
