Dear readers,

My Thai wife, her mother and brother own a piece of land of about 1 rai near Chiang Mai in Sangkapaeng. Now they have rented the land to a rice farmer but it is a bit neglected.

My question is whether anything else can be done with the land? Grow something other than rice.

With greeting,

Matthijs

    Dear mathijs,
I actually do not understand this question on this forum, if you have a Thai wife, mother-in-law and brother-in-law, they can find out whether something else can be grown on that piece of land.
They speak the language and I think they know how to find the right authorities .

my wife has 13 family and they also grow vegetables after rice, due to drought rice can only be grown once and then thai vegetables.
and yes indeed they should know, hope something helps.

    good harvest

It is not allowed to build on agricultural land, which is also not recommended because it is usually full of termites. They mean that your house is eaten up after a few years. I speak from experience.

The question is about growing crops, not building a house…………

I think it is best to do this in consultation with the PuaBaan (neighborhood representative).
Since the water management of your field will have to change.
This can have an impact on the other fields and you have to do that in consultation otherwise
    you get problems.
