Driving lessons in Chiang Mai?
Dear readers,
My Thai wife and I are moving from Pattaya to Chang Mai. My wife would like to get her driving license in Chang Mai.
Does anyone have a good driving instructor where my wife can take lessons to get her driver's license?
Thanks in advance
Franc

a driving school to get a driver's license is no problem, but a driving school where you learn to drive a car properly is something else... 😉 Usually you get 4x 2-hour lessons and the last day is also an exam. If you pass, you will receive a piece of paper with which you can get your driver's license. pick up at Transportation Office. Now you guessed it, everyone passed, of course, otherwise they wouldn't have done their job well 555. I think KW is the better one in this category https://www.facebook.com/chiangmaikw/
You are 100% right Ruud. My wife followed that too. During the parking test, the instructor even indicated the direction of turning. When I saw her driving skills (did 40-50000 km myself) I first explained all the rules to her as a co-driver (I still repeat all the rules now). Then she started driving, not parking. Enough space everywhere, but the Thais don't want to walk. She parked in a place far from the entrance and gained driving experience in the meantime. Then I taught her how to park.
After 4 years she drives from Hua Hin to Chiang Mai using European driving style and rules and explains to me what is wrong on the road.
My wife got her driving license on my advice 6 years ago and that was certainly not in 5 x2 hours, I drove along once and I must say that she could drive and park properly. She never drove a car until 2 years ago. and then, on my advice, she went back for a 2-hour drive with someone from the driving school, but with her car that we then purchased. Since then, she drives regularly and has become a good driver in a few months. This year we went from Chiang Mai to Hua. drove hin, so through Bkk and everything without any problems, she is a much better driver than many Thai drivers. The Driving School is located on the ring road, if you take the road to Maerim and cross the ring road it is on your left. You can always book additional hours if you feel it is necessary.
There is an excellent driving school in Lamphun, a stone's throw from Chiangmai.
Lessons are given on a closed site with a hill test and all.
The course lasts about 2 to 3 days, I think the costs will now be around 3 to 4000 baht.
The school is located right next to the railway line near the Thai RDW and many inspection stations and the nearby Princ private hospital.
Drive from Chiangmai and follow the railroad after Lamphun station on the left side.
