Dear readers,

Every year I buy a prepaid SIM card at 7-Eleven for my spare phone. Now I have a new phone with a duo card. So micro SIM cards must be inserted here.

Does anyone know if these micro sim cards are also available as prepaid?

By the way, I always bought SIM cards from True.

With kind regards,

Christa

    Hello Christa,

I just got back from Thailand. I bought a prepaid SIM card for my iPhone7 at 5-eleven. This SIM card was from True and I was able to top it up.

    Greetings,
    Natalia

You can always cut a sim card to a micro sim card. I usually use the SIM card (happy) it is also prepaid. this was a microsim by default. There are many pictures on the internet showing how to cut it.

You can buy old and micro SIM cards in many places. You can get them from every provider in almost every shopping center, or at the airport in the arrivals hall. If you need a micro SIM card, you can have the larger one cut to the size of a micro. They have a device for this. It also makes no difference whether you have a pre-paid or subscription.

You can buy a micro SIM everywhere. Both at the 7/11 and at all the various providers in the shopping centers. You can push this SIM out of the “large” SIM card.

The nano sim is usually only available from the providers.

Naturally. No problem, available everywhere. Thailand is a well-developed country.

The large SIM card is cut to size for you in the 7/11 shop, so that it can be used as a micro SIM card. However, it is still a bit thicker than the micro, but it works. The providers sell the micros, a True Move sales point can be found in the Big C (and probably also in the Tesco) Supermarket.

In thailand there are many real phone shops or computer shops where you can buy micro and otherwise you can buy one at 7 and then have it cut in a phone shop.
If you go to Thailand several times a year, it can also be worthwhile to top up your card so that the expiration date does not expire before you go to Thailand again

The last time I exchanged my normal SIM card, which I still had, for a micro SIM upon arrival at the AIS counter. Having 3G activated immediately was arranged in twenty minutes. Bundle was debited from my call credit. Cost at the counter was 0 baht. True will also have something like that.

Btw, iPhone uses nano sim, most other phones micro or still normal sims.
