Dear readers,

I will soon be leaving for Thailand for the fourth time. Now I'm looking for an island destination where there are no hordes of Chinese and Russians, so something unspoilt and not too touristy. Are they still there and where?

Please tips from readers who have been somewhere recently because the situation may have changed.

Regards,

sjors

Koh Kut, I heard. There you can meet the mayor of Ruigoord, who goes there to say that he has ever been to Koh Kut, you get it. Then you don't have to say anything, he talks for about 3 hours, and then you go to sleep.

Koh Kood a beautiful quiet island as well as Koh Way and on Koh Rang you can be all alone.

In the vicinity of Koh Kood (Kut) there is Koh Wai electricity only with generators.

Koh Wai is completely built up with resorts for the small budget and woke, hip vega-grain-muesli-yoghurt breakfast spots….

Kho Lipe hour by speedboat from Satun pier, no cars, no Russians and Chinese.
The only motorized vehicle is a scooter taxi with sidecar.

Muh Ko Chang and Ko Kut in the Gulf
Ko Libong and Ko Sukon in the Andaman sea

Koh Kut out of season is a must: I was there at the end of April, and we were almost the only visitors on the whole island. Still pretty virginal anyway. Koh Chang: actually only the east coast is really recommended, the entire west coast is a large strip of resorts interspersed with expensive hotels.
