Dear readers,

I've been reading about delicious dishes from the north of Thailand lately, and that looks delicious, but are these also available in Bangkok or elsewhere in Thailand?

We do not come to the North because we are beach lovers and to fly to Chiang Mai just for dinner is going a bit far…

Greetings,

Johanna

In Bangkok there is Eats Payao that serves good Northern food. I highly recommend the Khao Soi. Enjoy your meal!

My Thai wife makes all kinds of Northern Thai dishes and sends them to customers all over Thailand.

    Hi,
If I am on Krabi with my wife, for example, and she would like to eat isaan food, she will just ask at the eateries.
There is always something nearby that can make it because many people from Isaan move to the tourist area to work.
So I think they do that from Chang mai as well.
    So just ask around.

Everything from all over TH can be found somewhere in BKK, but if you don't know your way around and barely know what you're actually looking for, it's even worse than that needle in the haystack. The most useful thing is, of course, to ask people from the north which addresses they know.
Incidentally, the difference in that rice + something is not so spectacular that it would make trips of 1000 km. I think the best starting point is one of the more luxurious food courts in eg Paragon or Em-Q that are organized here and there in regions from TH. But myself, if I come to Bangkpi again, Happyland food center / open air, KHao Soi, etc. is not open every day. 50/60 bt.

    hey,

In my experience, restaurants in the other parts of the country have a few dishes from the Isaan or the north on the menu.
In the major tourist towns there may be specialty restaurants because the owner/chef is from the north.
If you write down the names of the dishes you like, you can check it on the menu or ask in a restaurant.
