Reader question: Very bad ASQ hotel
Dear readers,
As I mentioned before, I am in my last 3 days of the ASQ in Bangkok. Very bad hotel, cold food, dirty and bad communication. But yes, what else did I expect from a budget ASQ hotel near Nonthaburi. Price 28.500 baht without mentioning the name of the hotel, but it is certainly not "luxury".
Not recommended and stay away from it.
Question: Who knows which umbrella organization in Thailand controls and/or awards the ASQ Hotels? (TAT…?).
Regards,
Marcel
Editors: Do you have a question for the readers of Thailandblog? Use it contact form..
You recommend staying away from it, but how can you do that without knowing the name of the hotel? I am also looking for an asq hotel in that lower price range, so I am very curious.
Good luck for your last 3 days…
Read between the lines carefully
………….however “luxury” it is certainly not…………….
Do you have him?
Miloft Sathorn, about 30,000 baht. I have just spent 15 days in detention. Big advantage, all rooms have a reasonable balcony. Immediately ask for a microwave upon arrival, you can make the food warm / hot yourself. The beds are excellent. The staff are professional and efficient. Meals, except breakfast, are mainly Thai. Italian once. But quite tasty. I asked for chilli and oyster sauce, which I promptly got. According to the rules, no cleaning and changing of bed linen is allowed for 15 days. I didn't accept that. After 7 days (2nd Covid test) I demanded my bed linen be changed. Thus happened.
The staff is willing to do your shopping at the 7-eleven.
You are not allowed to use alcohol in the room, but there is no one to check whether you have a bottle of whiskey in your suitcase. Also ask for solid cutlery and crockery. You get it, you don't have to eat out of those flimsy plastic containers.
Coincidentally, I also wrote a piece about my ASQ today and although I can't look into anyone's wallet, I do want to give some good advice to thoroughly check the hotel of your choice with Google. Most hotels have 500+ reviews. Then you can avoid all the problems mentioned above.
I had a choice of dishes every day, from Western to Thai, from Japanese to Indian to vegetarian.
Even got freshly baked fries, toasted sandwiches and pizzas. The microwave in my room has not been opened yet. But again, everyone has their choice.
Hope the link works, then you have an idea of how it can be done

Click on the “next day meal order” button and enter a random name and room number 540
Then you can browse the menu
Bert, that food looks great. So here you really get value for money.
You recommend that you thoroughly vet the hotel.
I've been wondering for some time what all post-corona valuations are still worth.
Many tourism dependent institutions have been closed. The permanent staff may have found another employer. New staff may then require new judgments.
Could also be that new staff is even better. New brooms sweep clean finally.
You can easily extract the reviews regarding the period during corona. Just look at the date and you already know
Dag,
I sat here. http://thecanalhotels.com/. So, the name of the hotel 🙂
For 26900 baht. No complaints. Fine.
Food (much) was better than I expected.
After about 10 days I was allowed to play outside for an hour in the “relaxing area.”. Dirty empty pool. Pool bar closed. Little yum. Just as alone, as in my room….so after 15 minutes I wanted to go back to my room. 🙂
mo3s
We also have another 4 days. Same story and we pay more than 60000 bath for two people in Tropicana hotel in Pattaya bad and cold food, shameful unfortunately
Hallo,
I experienced my quarantine period in December 2020 and April 2021 in Hotel Best Bella in Pattaya.
Just good. After the results of the 1st test, the rooms are cleaned every three days, including replacement of bed linen and towels. In December there was a very extensive menu, but that was not feasible from an organizational point of view and that is why they switched to a shorter menu. Large portions. Microwave in the room, normal cutlery, plates and cups. Room service available, but I did not use it. After the first test result (of course when negative) you can stay on the roof terrace for an hour / day. Items may be brought in from outside, it is said that it is checked, but nothing may be removed from the hotel. If you have any questions, you can ask them at the reception or at the hospital, using Line. Different price ranges. see website. I have had deLuxe Poolview both times.
Advice: first contact us by e-mail to see if rooms are available. The reservation system often indicates that there are no rooms available, while e-mail contact shows that there are rooms available.
Groet
Henk
If you read between the lines: however, it is certainly not “luxury”…..you know which hotel I mean
I immediately complained after 2 days and took photos and videos. I'm glad I'm out of here.
They tried for 5 days to change *warm and better food), but on day 6 it was the same again. They don't even knock on the door when the food is there (or you have to check every 3 minutes)
Spoken to manager/supervisor that I absolutely do not accept this with apologies and improvement in response.
But yes, they fall back into their pattern
Ridiculous / unhygienic and not being able to get the name of the manager / supervisor
Also on my second (pakma) complaint they pretended to be a supervisor with no name AND my wife's call was abruptly ended by hanging up the phone.
But still 48 hours to go and I'm gone.
I thought the FDA (food and drug administration) approves and controls the hotels, but I'm not sure.
I'm not easily scared and stir my mouth for sure, ... also in Thailand
So you are in Samut Prakan, not in Nonthaburi, I understand……..
