I use both I have a Belgian Iban at TransferWise where I put money ready to transfer easily when the exchange rate is favourable.
Azimo gives more for your money because the fee is much lower, which is very favorable for large amounts.
Install both apps and you can compare.

I have no experience with Azimo.
Transferwise through the site is going well.
    The app is another problem.
When using the app, it indicated to me that there is
An error was made and no money was debited.
So just one more time, in the end there was nice 2 x
made a write-off. But transferwise, “nothing” can go in there
do…it would also be too nice.

I also received a message for quite some time, in my opinion especially with payments to Transferwise using a credit card, that the payment had not been received. After waiting for about 20 to 30 seconds, it turned out that the money had been credited to Transferwise's account and I received confirmation that the transaction had been initiated. Contacted them about this and was told that the issue was known and that they are working to resolve it. Incidentally, this problem also occurred with, among other things, payments by credit card to the Toto in the Netherlands. My last transfer to Thailand via the Transferwise app was on September 22nd. The app had been adjusted, after the payment an hourglass was shown on the screen and after 7 seconds I received the message that the transfer had been completed and that the money had been transferred. had meanwhile been credited to the Thai bank account. I will also receive confirmation of this on my e-mail address. At Transferwise you can always undo transactions, unless the amount has already been transferred to the intended (Thai) bank account. Dre's response is correct. The costs at Azimo are (still) lower than at Transferwise, where the exchange rate is a fraction more favorable. With a transfer of 1000 euros via Azimo, the recipient in Thailand will therefore receive approximately 100 baht more. I myself am familiar and satisfied with Transferwise and that difference is currently no reason for me to switch to Azimo, but everyone decides for themselves.

    Peter,

This problem has been pointed out to Transferewise several times.
Even shot screen dump several times for them to prove the problem
Has anything been done? No not until now
My first report is from 4 months ago
My monthly deposit was debited 3 times the first time this happened to me
Refund not possible. Now I transfer the money one time and I first check my own bank whether it has been debited or not before I (try to) transfer it a second time.

@ Pieter, I have been using the TW app for a year, if you have made a payment and transfer via ideal, I immediately receive a message that my money has not yet been received by TW.
2 seconds later I get a message from Kasikorn bank that the money has arrived in Thailand.

    So just use that app….

    Dear Gery,
I've been comparing exchange rates for a whole month but TransferWise is much better, always a higher rate and that more than compensates for the difference in amount receivable. Only up to € 150 is Azimo better.
Sending money the first 2 times gives a better rate than TransferWise, then always lower.
    Use it to your advantage!!

I have compared TransferWise and Azimo several times since the beginning of this year. In all cases for all amounts from 100 to a few thousand, Azimo was a bit cheaper. Especially the first 2 times, then also because they only ask for a euro per transaction. I dare not say always, because I don't have a crystal ball, but in recent months you were better off with Azimo.

At the moment for 500 euros:
        TransferWise: 18.174,40 thb
        Azimo: 17.344,72 thb

Difference 170th. Subtract a euro and then Azimo 130 is cheaper. So say that it saves you a euro or 2 or 3. They are therefore quite close to each other, but Azimo has always been a few euros cheaper in my various tests from this spring. Checking with the competitor every now and then can't hurt, no service can always be the cheaper I think. They may have switched places in a year.

          17 is 18 thousand

Dear Rob, can't help but dot the i's and cross the t's. At the moment the exchange rate at Transferwise is 36,787. With a transfer via credit card payment (fast transfer) of € 500, Transferwise charges € 5,96 in costs and therefore the recipient in Thailand receives the 18,174 thb you mentioned. But when paying via Ideal (low cost transfer), the costs at Transferwise are € 3,93 and 18,249 thb is credited to the Thai bank. The price at Azimo is now 36,689.
Only for the first 2 transactions are Azimo not charged any costs and so 18,344 thb would indeed be transferred, but for a correct comparison you would have to use the usual costs of (only) €0,99 (you actually report that also) and you would therefore end up at 18,308 thb at Azimo. So the difference in favor of Azimo would be 18,308 minus 18,249 = 59 thb. Although Azimo is currently working out a bit more favorably, Gery's question, who is the best, has not actually been answered. More matters are important for this, such as the speed of transactions, the accessibility and customer-friendliness of customer service, the ease of making transfers, etcetera. Since I have no experience with Azimo, I can't answer that. Regards.
