Dear readers,
Does anyone know why the sea water in Hua Hin is so brown in color. We have been coming here for 15 years and the water was always clean and clear. Now we are back and it is not much different from the North Sea. Fortunately the temperature is better.
Can someone provide an explanation for this?

I also like to come to Hua Hin myself.
To answer your question I can only think that the wind and/or current are such that sewage reaches the beach. I know this sometimes happens at Pattaya but always thought Hua Hin was spared that.

We are in Hua Hin but I don't know where you see that brown water.
Maybe take off your sunglasses.
Could it be that the water companies give their storage tanks an extra rinse to make it relatively
supply clean water.
The storage tank was flushed with me this week and a lot of brown/yellow water came out. Just flushed until
clear water came out again.
The cause is the drought and low water level, making it more difficult to pump up clean water.

You are right.. Many hotels and shopping centers have been added in the last 14 years and there are hardly any facilities for water treatment for discharge into the sea. Very sad.. A little further south after Khao Takiap it is a bit better, but for how long?
I was there from December 17 to January 3 and did not see any brown water there.

I noticed long ago, when the waves come from the right,
is the water clean , but when they come from the left ,
the water is very dirty. I think that's because behind the pier
and channel goes into the sea, with sewage water.
Fortunately, most of the time the waves come from the right.

Yesterday afternoon on the beach of Takiab near Hua Hin. The water also seen from the mountain. Didn't look brown. Even up to my hips in the water I could see the sand at my feet 🙂
