Dear readers,

I will soon be traveling to Thailand for 2 months. My girlfriend and I are currently arranging everything to get married. We planned to do this in Bangkok. Now my girlfriend is told that at least 50 places where you can normally get married have already been closed due to the current corona outbreak.

Are there any of you who know of places where it is currently possible/successful? Recent experience? Preferably places that have experience with marriage between 2 nationalities. A website or contact address would also be useful.

Thanks for the comments.

I don't need messages to advise me against getting married. Everything was thoroughly considered and arranged 😉

Regards,

Peter

I experienced the same thing last week. They gave me the adives to find an amphur outside Bankok that still registers marriages.
Incidentally, with English search terms I could only find 4 district offices, I had no contact with the other 46.
I am now also curious how long the documents I have had to arrange are valid?

It turns out to be an overall decision for Bangkok. I also just had the necessary documents legalized and they appear to be valid for 90 days.

Have you found an Amphur in the meantime?

To save time and bad mood in these difficult times, I would choose to hire a Thai agency that will arrange it all for you. That is of course more expensive than arranging it yourself, but for 12.000 baht I was married years ago and in half a day. Just sit down, no waiting, no difficult questions, sign a few signatures and you're done, in this case Peter.
