Reader question: Shipping costs A4 envelope from Thailand to the Netherlands with airmail?
Dear readers,
I need to send a stamped return envelope to Bangkok. I cannot buy stamps in the Netherlands for Thailand here. What are the shipping costs of sending an A4 envelope from Thailand to the Netherlands by airmail?
E.
Editors: Do you have a question for the readers of Thailandblog? Use it contact form..
Up to 20 grams 34 baht, after that 10 baht is added for every 8 grams.
Thai stamps are for sale here at a number of stamp dealers on eBay, for example, but then you will of course pay quite a few percentages extra.
Difficult to buy Thai stamps in the Netherlands for a return envelope.
Perhaps there are still people who have stamps by chance.
Stamps are also usually printed when you go to the Thai post offices.
If you still have Thai baht, put it in the envelope and the person who receives it can go to a post office.
Or send the envelope to someone you know in Thailand, who will take care of the rest.
You could also add € 10, -, which you can exchange anywhere and the person is also called something extra.
I understand that many people have never heard of it or know of its existence, but there is an 'INTERNATIONAL RESPONSE COUPON' that can be used worldwide. You can buy such a coupon at the post office and it has the value of a normalized airmail shipment. It is more expensive than a stamp in the country itself. If you think the shipment will cost more than a normalized shipment, you can simply put two in the envelope. To be valid, this coupon must be stamped on one side, left, by the post office where you purchase it. If this stamp is not there, the coupon is invalid. The same if the coupon is stamped on both the left and right, then it has been used.
We, as radio amateurs, often use this as a paid written answer to a made radio connection (QSL for those in the know). Reason: can be used just about anywhere in the world and is much less susceptible to theft than, for example, putting a 2 USD in an envelope. nor the risk of buying a stamp somewhere on the internet, which later turns out to be out of circulation.
When I used this for the first time in Thailand I thought: what kind of misery is that going to be???…. But no, even in the local post office, next to my house, they knew it. To my great surprise, I even got a few cents back because the value of the coupon was more than the rate to be paid… Never happened to me in Belgium.
Unfortunately, International Reply Coupons are not (anymore) available in the Netherlands (at least not since 2013)
I need to send a stamped return envelope to Bangkok.
Where should you send that envelope from? From the Netherlands simply by ems post
I cannot buy stamps in the Netherlands for Thailand here.
The addressee can then still send a return by post EMS. put some money in the mail from the Netherlands. Another advice is to send it to a friend who will fulfill it for you.
