Dear readers,

If we can travel to Thailand again, the Thai government will require proof of insurance to cover the $19 Covid-100.000 medical costs. Does anyone already have experience with this? Or does anyone know which insurance company can offer this?

Regards,

Rob

    Dear Rob,
At the moment, nothing is known about when Thailand will allow foreigners in again, nor what conditions there will be when entry is possible again.

Currently code orange is still in force. And the warning is given check your insurance before you travel. Make sure that if they give the green light that you have written confirmation of this. Don't rely on telephone information if there is something you don't have a leg to stand on.

      And even by e-mail confirmation…

I asked my health insurance VGZ if I could ask for the same help in zhs B in Bangkok instead of waiting 2 months for zhs A in Breda.
Reply by e-mail: “advance there, declare here”.
You already understand: when the bill was declared, every excuse was used to dismiss it.
      a) the bill was not readable (in Thai/English, getting into the KNOWLEDGE economy is too difficult)
      b) not specified enough (up to a needle of 50 THB = € 1,25)
      c) ultimately: ineffective care (Bumrungrad, Dr Verapan, demos around the world on new techniques in his field: Sidney, Chicago, Germany, where he was trained)

This is how you get cheated, cheated and scammed.

I am insured through OHRA. Have already declared bills from Thai hospitals to them many times. Never had any questions about this and the bills were always paid quickly.

There is a complaints institute for disputes with health insurers, where you can submit this complaint. I certainly would.

Good travel insurance will cover up to 1 million as far as I know.
Everyone will soon have to have a health certificate, I assume.
I personally think that people without a health certificate will soon no longer be allowed to fly.
Or you must be (mandatory) vaccinated.

This is just an opinion of mine.
First wait for the tourists to enter.
    But.the.possibility is that they will.tighten.as.before.
BV for people who belong to the risk groups, including health statements, health insurance.
Would go 28_05_2020 to 26_07_2020 to the Netherlands.
I canceled it for fear that I can't or difficult to come back.

I wanted to go to Belgium again at the end of this year. But I'm just going to forget it and spend my last years here in Thailand.

You have to go to your own health insurance company for proof of $ 100.000.
I have my insurance with FBTO and have submitted this to them.
I then received a letter in English stating that I am insured for the full amount if anything were to happen to me in Thailand. I had also specifically asked them if they could state in the letter that the full amount would be reimbursed if I contract corona in Thailand and therefore have to be admitted to hospital.
FBTO informed me that I had to request the letter about 7 days in advance so that the letter could include exactly when I will be staying in Thailand.
For the health declaration is a bit more difficult, maybe through the GGD or GP, I still have to find out.

I think it is only the statement and they need another examination from a doctor.
If I then see how the inspection is, then I think this inspection is necessary.

But also not sure, after all, the Thai Embassy decides.
An acquaintance of mine has asked here in the Changmai Ram Hospital what this test costs, 5000 Th.B.

I have OHRA insurance with an international EU insurance card. It is accepted. Payment by them was always made directly to the hospital in Thailand and Indonesia. Small amounts paid and declared yourself. Never had any problems with it. People with customers should ask themselves what kind of insurance they actually have. The Thai hospital uses the insurance card to contact the healthcare company and ask for permission. that's where the bill goes too.
But health insurance does not accept all costs because Thai hospitals often make a mess of it and only claim. This leads to frequent discussions about the amounts to be paid out. But you're out there.

Entry later with a statement specifically with corona coverage???. Who's coming up here again. This is not recorded anywhere. Why do such Indian stories always come up. Insurance does not issue such a statement. Just falls under the standard health insurance coverage. What you can do is apply for proof of being insured abroad that focuses on Thailand. (Valid for 6 months because you are no longer allowed to stay abroad continuously for the insurance) When you go back, simply apply for a new one. Various countries require such a statement. Even before the corona crisis. Just wait and see when Thailand opens again.

      @wiebren

With VGZ you can simply go to the Bangkok Hospital in Pattaya.
An acquaintance has already been admitted there twice.
Allianz is also a great travel insurance policy with medical expenses coverage independent of
      your standard VGZ cost cover.

In the case of Nico Koenders, it was a Thai who returned to Thailand.
The online fit-to-fly statement, which should not be older than 7 days,
was accepted by the Thai Embassy,
who then issued a paper for her to go.
    No medical test was involved.
But yes, the rules change every day….

Any country that follows this HOAX will require it, thereby becoming the standard in travel insurance.
Many intercontinental insurance policies already cover a ton or more.
