Dear readers,

The Netherlands will probably turn red again on Friday and if it continues like this maybe dark red later. What are the consequences if you are going to apply for a CoE for Thailand? Will the Netherlands then end up on the high-risk countries of Thailand and can we forget about a CoE?

Regards,

Bram

    Hi Bram,

Do not worry. The ASQs and SHA+ hotels [Phuket sandbox] must also have customers.

When I saw the list of countries for the Phuket sandbox, I suspected that this list is not only based on the covid situation of those countries.

    Compare these 2 lists:

    https://edition.cnn.com/interactive/2020/health/coronavirus-maps-and-cases/

Why are “red” countries such as Spain, Sweden, USA on the Phuket list?

    Hi Bram,

I have a CoE for the Phuket Sandbox , leaving July 23rd .
Yesterday I had contact with the Thai embassy in The Hague because I want to know if I can leave if the Netherlands is put on code red. There is a chance that the list of allowed countries will be adjusted after July 16 and that travelers from the Netherlands will not be able to travel for the time being.
The advice was to check the website of the Thai embassy in The Hague every day and to view the list of permitted countries.
This list will probably only be updated on the relevant website on or after July 19th.
    So wait.

    Regards, Gert

If it doesn't work via Phuket, you can still travel via ASQ in Bangkok or other places.
Many more hotels have now been added and the prices are also more interesting. In Phuket you have to pay for your tests yourself and also your food. The only difference with Phuket is that you can walk around to determine that everything is closed.
I did that quarantine in BKK and actually didn't mind. Had nice reading with me my laptop and music. Nice air conditioning on all day and choosing what I wanted to eat every day.
Tests are free and you don't spend Baht for 2 weeks.

But you do pay around 1000€ for an Asq hotel in Bangkok. In Phuket you already have a very good 350 * hotel for € 4. So if you add all the extra costs (testing, food, transport) it will be about the same price. But he's free
