Dear readers,

My Thai girlfriend would like to come to the Netherlands. She lives in Bangkok. She must be vaccinated in order to get a Schengen visa. Called several (private) hospitals without result. She passed her integration exam.

The Dutch embassy is hardly accessible.

I know that Thai women travel to the Netherlands and I wonder how they manage that?

Advice and tips are very welcome.

Regards,

Jos

The vaccination requirement only applies to obtain an exception to an entry ban from a non-EU country to an EU country. Since Thailand is still on the list of safe countries of the EU, there is no entry ban. So no exception needs to be obtained, so there is no obligation to vaccinate.

Your girlfriend can therefore come to the Netherlands without vaccination with a Schengen visa.

Can she get a vaccination against Covid here in the Netherlands if not
Dutchman. Getting a Covid vaccination in Thailand takes forever.
After all, you spend almost 12 hours on a plane with others

As far as I know this is not (yet) possible. For the time being, only persons with a BSN number are offered the opportunity to be vaccinated in the Netherlands. These include, for example, Dutch people living outside the Netherlands and labor migrants.

Commercial supply of covid vaccines is currently still prohibited in the Netherlands.

Unfortunately not. My girlfriend also wants to come over, already had 1x Astra Zenica in Thailand, she also has a valid visa and compulsory insurance.

I asked the same question at the GGD since the GP was the first point of contact for the answer "no". Only Dutch people with a BSN number are vaccinated, according to the GGD.

        Unfortunately.

However, that is not entirely true, because there are possibilities. See:

And someone with Thai nationality, deregistered in the Netherlands but DOES have a BSN number?

It is clearly stated in the text that you see after clicking the link.

the lady lived and worked legally in the Netherlands. She no longer has any documents, except for a health insurance card with her BSN number on it. The Dutch embassy in Bangkok says she must be in the Netherlands for a new ID. When I inquire with the municipality where she was registered, I am not told anything about the privacy law.

          This is incorrect information.
My wife is here on a schengen visa for 3 months. On July 22, she will receive her 2nd Pfizer vaccination in AFAS Life (Arena Boulevard).

I first called the GGD Amsterdam and explained that she is an “undocumented person”, there I was advised to go to the entrance of the GGD vaccination street at AFAS Live. I think there are special days/hours for such a free walk-in.

You indicate at the entrance that she is undocumented, she is then forwarded to a separate desk (she receives a blue sticker on the health form to be completed) where a file has been created for her with a patient number (instead of a BSN number). Redirected to the next counter for vaccination and done.

It may be more convenient to make an appointment by telephone via the GGD in advance and to have a file created with a patient number, which saves a lot of time at the location and not every employee at the location is aware. A manager was called in at my wife's house who advised the relevant GGD employee to create a new file with a special code.

Illegals, aliens, homeless people (in short: the undocumented) can also be vaccinated free of charge in NL.

Ah, the color matters. Not an outbreak or an immense amount of people with covid, but the color. Yes, ok on that color changes. Think of a ratio of cases against number of inhabitants.

Before we opened, questions were already being asked about the D-virus. Whether a ban on incoming people from India, for example, was not appropriate. No, that was not necessary. After all, we also switched to a quarantine arrangement and a control of the quarantine. Color yellow?
Well that didn't help, because the D virus is now raging around. That's what we're talking about now.
I wonder what effect the European Championship final will have, 60000 people gathered together.
So as long as Thailand doesn't turn orange or red, people could come!
