Dear readers,

Is a medical certificate required or not to extend my Thai driving license for another 5 years?

Like to hear.

Regards,

I did not need it for my 2019nd 2 year extension in May 5, was not asked after , location Pattaya .
But yes, as with so many things here .TIT. not here then again etc…

Visited in August for a 5-year extension. There is no mention of a medical statement.

In Nakhon Sawan you can and also collect proof of residence (500 baht) + passport photo at the emigration office and a few photocopies of your passport.

    Just done, no need

If you already need one, it won't cost you more than 100 Baht!, extend after your date of birth, you just get 6 years.

To be sure, I picked up such a piece of paper 100 baht (no inspection) at a doctor's office.
It was not asked at the driver's license renewal: car and motorcycle (Pattaya)

(I didn't want to be sent back if I didn't have it with me)

Could it not also be related to the age of the applicant?

For 150 Bath (!) Don't take the risk that you can come back again. Walk into a doctor's office and say you want to renew your driver's license. The blood pressure is measured (if you have succeeded), a form is filled in, you pay and you are outside within 5 minutes.

    Success with it.

You can't get a clearer formulation, when asked if you need a medical statement to obtain / extend a driving license, well said Peter!!

In Nong Bua Lamphu it costs 100 baht. But have not been examined doctor just gives the certificate that I am super healthy.

Just got my first five year driver's license and looked up the rules beforehand. The medical certificate is only required for the first 2-year driver's license and the first five-year. After that no more. They now let the driver's license expire on your date of birth, is easier to remember.

Not necessary in Loei, just a letter from the emigration office and a copy of your passport

it can be age related above a certain age and not below a certain age .

I have not returned from the DLT office in Bangchak, Bangkok, where I replaced my 2-year driver's license with a 5-year driver's license.
Last week I was sent away because I didn't have a medical certificate.
So yes, it is necessary to go from 2 to 5 years.
I'm not sure if it's necessary for a 5 year license renewal. But I think it makes sense to ask for it.
