Dear readers,

We often send a box of stuff, a 3 kg to Thailand with Post.nl, but it always takes 4 weeks before it arrives.
Isn't there a faster way?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Paul

Paul, always four weeks with PostNL? I have been sending parcels back and forth for twenty years and two weeks is the maximum except for public holidays in NL or in TH and now with corona.

You want it faster? Give it with a traveler who has a few kilos of space, then it will be there in a single day and then within two days by EMS in Thailand. You can also ship with the well-known 'fast services', but the costs are considerably higher and their packages go to customs as standard for levying import fees and VAT. Ordinary PTT packets often shoot through and then reach the recipient without a charge.

My package that was handed in to the post on 28-04 is still in the outbox of the post.

(Shipment sent to country of destination on 10/05) – That means it's in the outbox, not on its way to Thailand.

Once the package has been picked up at the post, it goes quickly, it will arrive within 3-4 days.
    DHL also takes even longer.

Ruud, post from PostNL is delayed and that differs from country to country. See the chapter 'current delays due to Covid' and Thailand is listed there. The express services have their own aircraft, PostNL's mail is carried on passenger flights.

    Dear Paul ,

with DHL in just three(3) to four(4) days, safe and insured against loss. Cost is mms. a little higher, but you can question that. DHL has offices all over the world and also flies all over the world.
    Greetings. Bo

I regularly ship from Thailand to Belgium, and also vice versa when I am in Belgium. With the Belgian Bpost it often takes 3 to 4 weeks. I stopped doing that for a few years, and now I do it with DHL in both directions. Never been on the road longer than a maximum of 2 days. it is more expensive, but it comes on time.

I also have bad experiences with Post.NL, takes 3-4 weeks at least. The last time I also had to pay import duties and customs costs.
Now only send with DHL from NL, price difference is very little and delivered within a week!

    Hi,

The last time I sent something to Bangkok (7 weeks ago now) it was
package (1kg) been on the road for 6 weeks. According to my son it has to do with Covid 19,
I always send it with track and trace these days.

    Regards, Inge

Last Saturday I received a package of liquorice from friends from the Netherlands of 3 kilos. Value 3 euros, shipped with priority for 23 euros on March 12. So 2 months on the road.

I always ship with track and trace and registered, takes 3 to 4 weeks. DHL costs are twice as high as Post NL, so it will take a little longer

Go and have a look at UPC not really cheap but fast, especially towards the cities.

I also regularly send a box with PostNL.
With track and trace it goes to Thailand within 5 days, but then it takes an average of 3 weeks before it is delivered.
I heard from an insider (my girlfriend works at customs) that the packages are placed in a kind of quarantine and are released after an average of 2 weeks and are only then processed with Thai post
