Reader question: How can I use VPN in Thailand?
Dear readers,
I am looking for information on how to use a VPN in Thailand for Dutch TV and sports Ziggo/ESPN. I would like to know how one another works?
Do I have to take out a subscription to Ziggo/ESPN sports, for example, and can I watch it via VPN? I currently have Caiway at home in the Netherlands, can I watch everything with this subscription via VPN in Thailand?
What are the best VPN connections?
Regards,
Peter

Hey Peter,
I recently went to Thailand. I have Ziggo here at home. That goes like this:
You install the Ziggo app on your tablet. I have a subscription with Goose VPN. You download the VNP on your tablet. When you turn it on, you can set it to the Netherlands (or another European country). Then turn on the Ziggo app and you can watch. I used my phone with Thai calling card as a hotspot to connect to the internet. This is an example with Ziggo, but Caiway will also have such an app where you can watch TV on a tablet, etc. You can then watch exactly the same as you have with your Caiway subscription at home.
Good luck,
Willem
Peter,
I live in Thailand and I watch Ziggo using a VPN (tunnel bear) on my laptop.
The laptop is connected to my TV (large screen) and I can watch everything I want on ziggo.
I log in to ziggo go and use the username and password of my son who has a ziggo subscription.
Has been working for years. First start your vpn and then go to ziggo go. Top.
Kind regards, Lung Kees
Good luck
Does this also work for netflix because they are a difficult player if you put netflix on Belgium or the Netherlands.
Yes, also works for netflix
You can also watch Netflix directly without VPN,
it works fine on my apple tv.
With the laptop we go to http://www.ziggogo.tv you can view this website without vpn.
If you click on a channel, you will receive a message: not allowed outside Europe.
We have ziggo login details of family in the Netherlands.
Then downloaded CyberGhost vpn 35 Euro for 1 year.
The laptop is connected to the TV with HDMI cable and we control it with a wireless mouse.
Then activate vpn and set it to the Netherlands.
Log in to Ziggo and watch.
Hesgoal.com is a sports heavy website with a server located somewhere in the seychelles.
You can watch for free, but be careful, you get pop-ups of advertising junk from which this website “lives”.
Just click away.
Peter,
I have been using Proton VPN with satisfaction for years.
Free version provides access to 3 countries including NL.
For 48 euros per year you have a basic subscription with I don't know how many countries.
Playstore: protonVPN
Succes
Does this also work for netflix because they are a difficult player if you put netflix on Belgium or the Netherlands.
https://goosevpn.com/ is Dutch and also possibly with ned chat in case of problems ...
A warning is in order before you spend money on a VPN provider, I have had bad experiences with it myself. It is very easy for companies that do so-called geo-blocking, such as Ziggo and Netflix, to blacklist the IP addresses of the servers used by the VPN so that you are still blocked. I mention Ziggo and Netflix because I purchased VPN especially for these 2 providers. Have experience with NordVPN and SurfShark, with both I am still blocked on Ziggo and Netflix. My advice: always take short-term subscriptions to the VPN so that you can try it first and possibly switch to another provider when it does not work (anymore), costs a little more but is cheaper than being stuck with a useless annual subscription.
For Ziggo I always turn off the Location data on the tablet.
Then it goes well, in combination with NordVPN.
By the way, I installed the vpn on a GL-AR150 box and both the tablet and my Chromecast are on that network.
Then I can start Ziggo Go on the tablet and cast it to the TV.
I used to use Express VPN, also in China and Russia, to my great satisfaction. But recently to the VPN that is in my virus package Norton360 and also works great on even 10 devices.
I've been using SURFSHARK for a few years now and I'm really satisfied.
Surfshark belongs to the world's best in VPN, but I only pay about 3 US $ per year, always for a subscription of 24 months.
Highly recommended with many built-in and well-arranged settings.
You can find out a lot about it here:
https://www.security.org/vpn/surfshark/review/
I've been using NorthVPN for years. One of the best VPN services
Willem, you probably mean NordVPN.
I have everything I can via Hemn Abdullah Rasool is on Facebook, doesn't cost much and works well
Visit the website debestevpn.nl. Do you have questions email me.
