Of course I don't know the seriousness of the facts ... but I know that in Thailand there are often (usually) reprisals if one gets into trouble with scammers. But that doesn't mean you should just let them go! Think for a while and don't act impulsively is definitely the message here (this could be done in consultation with a lawyer) !! Good luck.

    Hi Bob,

I know a Thai lawyer who speaks fluent English and limited Dutch. She was married to a Dutchman for a number of years and followed the integration course at the time. Now lives in BKK.
I don't know how we possibly. can come into contact with each other. An option through the editors?

    Good luck Sake

Well, my Thai girlfriend was scammed by a compatriot at the time. At my insistence – she did not dare / did not want to take action at first – a Thai lawyer was engaged. He has recovered 100% of the scam sum plus costs incurred.

So, I would get a Thai lawyer who speaks decent English. That is more than enough. Finding a Dutch-speaking lawyer seems to me like looking for a needle in a haystack.

    Hi Bob,
I have had good experience with an advoc off “Klum” in Pattaya. He is German and married to his Thai wife.
Together they run a law firm in the upper part of Therapasitroad in Pattaya.
They really work “as well as they can”…..But with the German language.
He regularly writes “columns” in DE FARANG.

Maybe you can do something with it..... But if you were scammed in Asia (I don't wish it on you)

Dear Bob, it is of course about what kind of scam is involved. Yetski damage? Real estate scam? Internet purchase that is not delivered? Regards, Marcel

Do you think some people can't really read? The question is ## a lawyer who speaks Dutch/Thai##.
It is quite clear that the questioner wants to discuss the subject matter in Dutch.
So see only 2 useful answers in this one
Tilleke and Gibbins and even the suggestion of sake.
Perhaps there are a few who know Dutch/Thai enough to help the questioner.

In your opinion, why should no other ideas be put forward if lawyers who also speak Dutch (ask if they also read Dutch, by the way) are not very widely present in Thailand.
For example, if the questioner lives in Phuket and there may be a Dutch-speaking lawyer in Chiangrai, then that does not seem very useful to me.

Regularly the thought occurs to me to unsubscribe from Thailandblog. The reason for this is the oversimplified and, in my experience, often hurtful reactions from people. Now another one. Mr. Guy who will tell the entrants how to do it.

In this case, those people think along with the questioner and make suggestions with which he or she may (also) be able to help. And that is certainly a good thing in this case. I have worked in the legal profession in the Netherlands for over 40 years and it is important to find a good specialized lawyer for a problem. Thai-NL is very handy, but there are more roads that lead to Rome.

I would appreciate it if the editors of Thailandblog would pay a little more attention to my annoyance, of which I just think I'm not the only one.
