Dear readers,

Who can help me with a good, customer-friendly, cooperative bank? Currently I am at Kasikornbank bank but even internet banking seems impossible there.

Please advise, dear readers.

Best regards.

Fred

I have been doing internet banking for years at the Bangkokobank and at UOB-Bank. In between I had an internet account with KTB. TMB also does internet banking. So is SCB. Plenty of choice!

  2. Piece maker says up

Kasikornbank has excellent internet banking, by far the best. It goes under the name “K Cyber”.

I am a customer of SCB Bank and have been using internet banking for years. Not inferior to what I am used to in the Netherlands!

I don't see the problem for Kasikorn…. I have had internet banking since the beginning of 7 years ago…., although transfers from Thailand to Europe may be subject to admission, may differ from situation and person…

(back gate is, for example, an EU prepaid card online with Thai bank and then do that card whitedraw to your eu bank, your prepaid card must have undergone both banks verification that it is indeed your personal accounts, but max 1500 euros p/month or 9000 euros yearly basis)

  5. Jörg says up

I agree with David H. I have also been doing internet banking via Kasikorn for years and since my last visit to Thailand I have also installed mobile internet banking (have not yet checked whether that works in the Netherlands, but it certainly does in Thailand). Immediately upon opening the Kasikorn account, I activated internet banking at the time and it works fine, also from the Netherlands with a Thai sim to receive text messages with codes.

I have also been using Kbank for years, I also do not see the problem, internet banking works perfectly?

I also have SCB and I find it less pleasant to work with.

You can also link multiple accounts at Kbank and also your debit & credit cards so that you can arrange and view everything with 1 login.

  7. Frank says up

No problem at all at Kasikornbank. Been a customer there for years and just internet banking.
Maybe you should come by again and say you want internet banking.
They will arrange it for you on the spot

  8. Dick Toll says up

I use Kasikorn bank and man internet and mobile banking.

  9. Cor Verkerk says up

I have had an account with Bangkok Bank (living in the Netherlands) for years, but I was told again last week that internet banking is only possible if you are staying in Thauland and not from abroad

    • French Nico says up

Incorrect, Cor. For years I have had an account with the Bangkok Bank with iBualuang iBanking (also possible with mBanking) and it works “all over the world”. And without a random reader or something like that. Only with login name and password. I just can't transfer money abroad, but that must have to do with the type of account (I don't live in Thailand).

    • Dennis says up

      Then you are misinformed.

I also have internet banking from Bangkok Bank. You do have to request a few things through the branch where you have your account. This is accompanied by many stamps, signatures and photocopies of passports and visas (or visa exemption). But it can.

Your user name will be sent by e-mail, your password (number code) by post to the specified address in Thailand, but that can also be a hotel. It took me 3 weeks to send it (was sent to my wife's house), but I can log in worldwide via the PC.

You must be able to receive text messages abroad via the mobile app, because the mobile app works via sent text messages.

As Frans Nico indicates, transferring money internationally is not possible, for which you have to request special permission. This then runs through the head office in Bangkok, but you can request this at your local branch of Bangkok Bank.

    Hi Fred,

I already suggested Bangkok Bank to you. Need an introduction? Just ask me.

    • Fred says up

      Dear Bob and others.

I'm going to try again this week at the Kbank.
Because it is a business account for my Ltd. does the bank need the minutes of the last meeting.
On my first visit, a passport and bank book was not enough. Second visit the STAMP was missing and now Monday again for the third time with a copy of the minutes ( how crazy can you get ).
But I persevere especially because of the reactions of other Kbank users.

      Thanks thanks thanks.
      Peace.

PS. Bangkok bank indeed comes across as sympathetic.

Internet from Kasikorn on my mobile phone until April 30th
After April 30th nothing more is new app. created and launched
My Samsung Note II was bought in NL and even Samsung Thailand doesn't get the country setting from NL to Thailand.
Consequence I can no longer use the internet because the new Kasikorn app only works in Thailand
If I want to use the internet and stay with Kasikorn, I will have to buy a new cell phone
Nobody knows why I could use the Kasikorn bank before April 30th. But adjust the app no they don't

    • Jörg says up

App for mobile banking does not seem to work for me in the Netherlands either. Apparently it has to do with the network. “Sorry, connection error. Please ensure GPRS network only (Wi-Fi not authorized). Please reboot the system and try to login again (error code 277). For more information kindly contact +662-8888888.” I'm not on WiFi, but the Dutch network (HollandsNieuwe) is apparently not accepted.

  16. Nico Arman says up

    Dear Fred,

I have internet banking at both SCB and Bangkokbank, at SCB I received 3 cards without any problem and therefore also three account numbers, which are linked via internet banking, easy transfer from one account to another, you can also name the accounts give, one for me, one for my wife and one called “savings account”

At the Bangkokbank you only get two cards for the same account number and here you can only withdraw from them at the ATM. At the SCB you can collect money at any ATM and that is so easy for a running ATM, right?

In addition; I am retired and live in Bangkok (lak-Si) and own the “yellow” booklet.
Transferring money to the mutual accounts is free, transferring to or from Bangkokbank is 25 Bhat for both

    Greetings Nico

    • david h. says up

Most likely you have a card with a chip, much safer than the magnetic stripe used in Thailand, but Bangkok Bank is the only one that has adapted its ATM for this so far, that's why! .

Pin & chip is what has been used in the Netherlands and Belgium for years, and is also the reason that our Western cards are blocked for use outside Europe until you request to open them temporarily, due to the magnetic strip, which is considered unsafe to use. .

  17. Peeyay says up

K Cyber banking (possible for Kasikorn accounts in only one name)
Must be requested / activated via the Kasikorn head office.
So your local office can't do that for you.
They normally have the necessary forms for the activation request available.
If not, download from their site.
For the rest, it works perfectly.

    • Jef says up

I've had K-Cyberbanking for years. Then one had to apply for this in the local office. I had a SIM from DTAC and it had to be exchanged for an 'ATM SIM' in a neighboring DTAC shop. Works fine from Thailand as well as from Belgium. My wife is (also) of Thai nationality. At that time, people already had to provide a Thai address. Presumably this can simply be the place of residence, which is communicated to Immigration. Registration has very recently been generalized to ALL mobile numbers, even non-banking ones, by a new law. It is only possible for existing numbers while in Thailand. Maybe that's why someone up here has been having problems since April. But I'm also getting logged in now and wasn't in Thailand to register my SIM yet, even though I haven't done a transaction since March.

    • Fred says up

      Thank you Peeyay.

It was indeed not that easy to apply for, but will go back for the third time on Monday.
      Perseverance wins I would say.

      Peace.

  18. CGM van Osch says up

I have been coming to Thailand for over 15 years and have had an account with Kasikornbank for over 10 years.
I still live in the Netherlands, but I can do internet banking.
I can also withdraw money from that account with my card in the Netherlands.
So I think you should get better information there in Thailand from the bank you want.
    Greetings and success.

    CGM van Osch.

    • LOUISE says up

      @vanOsch,

Better information here in Thailand is almost an impossibility.
We once, before we lived here, opened an account with bangkok bank on second road.
Here on the corner of Thepprasit road is Tesco Lotus with a branch of the bangkok bank.
I always update our booklets here.

And I, simple soul as I am, immediately think that I can do everything there.
      No, it is not.

Several times I was referred to second road.
I will withhold my comment that this was also Bangkok Bank and the explanation that was given to me, because I understood little about many of the hows and whys.
      She too I think.

So in terms of information, it is best to go to the office of the bank in question, where you once opened the account.

      • Joe II says up

Funny everyone, I opened an account with Bangkok Bank on Koh Samui a year ago to pay the rent. Can I also do internet banking with this, I ask the ladies behind the counter. Questioning eyes, giggles. Well to transfer the rent, I say again. Not understanding anything, they sit and look at each other. Somewhat annoyed, I make another attempt, but with the same meaningless result. Eventually the chef is called in to explain to this farang that this is not possible. Only view your bank balance on the internet and make payments to very large Thai companies such as for energy, telephone and post. Only with whom we as Bangkok Bank have a special contract. What about payment to my landlord? Yes, you can, but then you must first come to this office with your landlord's 'passport', etc., etc. … (I can hear you all laughing already)
So I've been withdrawing the money every month for a year and then I'm going to take it to my landlord's bank in cash.

In any case, I don't need the information in Thailand.

After all the hopeful responses above, I'm going to try again.
Thank you all, that gives the citizen courage again.

        • Jef says up

At Kasikornbank, an ID card of a beneficiary is not required. Before you can make a transfer to someone else's account, you must have entered the new beneficiary once (Thai bank, account number, name, possibly nickname as a reminder for yourself). You simply do this from K-Cyberbanking, wherever you are in the world. So certainly no document or anything is needed. You do not have to enter large utilities or providers, they are already provided. Such a transfer, such as top-up from your mobile phone, is done from a different menu choice than a transfer to the beneficiaries entered yourself. It all goes like a piece of cake.

The only Thai bank you can't transfer to is BAAC (in the folk Thai 'Tanahahn Kased', a somewhat old-fashioned institution that mainly provides mortgages but also has bank accounts). I noticed that because I once wanted to pay a befriended employee something. There was nothing to do but withdraw money from the wall and deposit cash at a BAAC office. So it's with that beneficiary bank, not with your bank.

A transfer to a non-Thai bank will not be possible with K-Cyberbanking: The Thai banking laws are rather difficult if money were to disappear from them, which is subject to conditions and restrictions. Internet orders from sites in Hong Kong or so, of articles that you want to have delivered in Thailand, you will have to pay in a different way (for example via a European account). But maybe that will change.

          Dear Joop,

This story about the Bangkok Bank is not true, so they really misinformed you.

You can simply transfer money to other accounts and pay bills to organizations. To add bills from 3rd parties, an SMS code follows, after which you can transfer without codes.

This also applies to the app.

Citibank all crockery such as the Netherlands or Belgium

  20. Marine says up

I recommend internet banking at Kasikorn Bank.
It is a great reliable bank.
Transfers from the Netherlands to your account at the KB will be on your account there within 4 working days.
They also give a good exchange rate when exchanging Euros in Bath for cash
The banks in Thailand only accept CALLED and UNWRITTEN banknotes for exchange.
Why ? The central bank there returns all imperfect and written notes to the bank.
It will then remain in place with a noose.
    Good luck, Marina.

Have accounts with SCB … internet banking is no problem at all, works well. However, there is one problem: for a transaction you need a code number (safety code), which you receive by SMS during the transaction. If you are abroad, you cannot always receive that code because it will be sent to your Thai telephone number.
When I applied for internet banking for the first time, there was a problem: the lady who works in the branch apparently didn't know how it all worked and "couldn't" give me a first login and user number ... Yes, then it will not work of course ... was quickly resolved in another branch of SCB bank.

Do internet banking at kasikornbank, with full satisfaction. Pay the fixed monthly costs such as electricity bill, True movie, internet etc. automatically per Kasikorn. Even pay my gardener from the Netherlands with my mobile phone, put the Thai SIM card in it and then I can just send SMS, I even top up the mobile phone with Kasikornbank internet banking. I automatically transfer money via my Dutch bank to the Kasikornbank, money is always received the next day, sometimes even the same day! Can even pay for my beer on the terrace with the kasikorn card during the holidays in the Netherlands, and at no extra cost! Purely settled the rate!
    Greetings Martin

Siam Commercial Bank. Simple and accurate. Has an app for iPad. Objection when checking your payments: name of (counter) account holder is displayed in Thai unless you state a “nickname”.

    Really have to laugh FF.
Has been with the Kbank for years and has been using internet banking there for years with pleasure. (Very helpful people)
The same goes for the Bank of Ayuthya without any problems.

    • Fred says up

      Dear Gerrit.

Indeed, I went in smiling for an internet account. (purely informative)

First official search, with passport and passbook.

Second official visit, with passport, bank book AND stamp of my company.

Third official visit next Monday, with passport, passbook, stamp of my company and
the minutes of the last meeting of my company a ltd. (not older than 3 months).

It must be because of the office that they cannot immediately communicate clearly with the customer.

But maybe I can whistle through life again on Monday afternoon.

i also have kasikorn and have internet banking
I have a business visa and work permit

    For each other

  26. Ceesdesnor says up

I don't know how you got it, but at the Kasikorn bank you can do internet banking.
I think you made the wrong choice when opening your account.
I have had an account with the Kasikorn bank since last December and I can even do Internet banking in the Netherlands.
I advise to go back and change it after explanation.

I lost my Kasikorn account when I went to France and I didn't have enough funds on it. They write off a certain amount each year.
    Unfortunately,

  28. Evert says up

Kasikorn is very fast with transfers. The person you transfer to receives a text message a second later. Works beautifully.
I now live in France and there I was thrown back to the old days, when it comes to internet banking. The government is very modern. You can pay fines in your own language via the internet.

  29. theos says up

I use internet banking from the Bangkok Bank. The account number is in my wife's name and I managed this in a few minutes at the Bangkok Bank office where I live. Only ID card my wife and I got a password through the ATM. Then in front of the computer in the Bangkok Bank office and logged in with a new password and Kees was done. Log in and out daily, no problems.

  30. Wiesje says up

Tried this week at the 'yellow' bank. Our bank account is in the names of my husband and me. The well-known and/or what is 'normal' in the Netherlands. Internet banking is therefore NOT possible. Transferring money abroad is always only possible through the office.

  31. Fred says up

    Dear readers.

Good, Tomorrow we go to the Kbank again to see if we can now get a business internet.
I started my own business a good month ago and the payments are coming in nicely, only ...... the amounts but no description. Always an amount of 1785 Baht but from whom ???
Of course I went straight to the office and yes it is possible to ask who has paid.
This means going there in one day and collecting the results another day. So it takes me two and a half days.
Who oh who has experience with this. INTERNET I hear you calling. yes yes yes tomorrow.
    But another way ???

    Best regards,

    Peace.

  32. Evert says up

Kasikorn and internet work beautifully fast, but the description is the only part that runs in a hopeless dos environment. Not comparable to the Netherlands.
