Dear readers,

I am planning to fly to Thailand by the end of the year. My question is the following, with which airline can I use WIFI during my flight? And will my laptop's battery also be charged?

Thanks in advance for the responses.

Greetings,

Jenny

    Hi Jenny,

I always travel with Eva air, it has a good wi fi connection + charging.

most airlines allow you to use WiFi for a fee.
(charging is always possible with USB connection)

    Jenny,

I flew with KLM last time. There is WIFI on board, you do not pay for sending text ONLY. Files, photos, etc. will cost money.
Exactly how much I don't know but it starts at 10 euros if I'm not mistaken.
And yes, you can also charge via USB cable. (Not during takeoff and landing)
I think you can find more information about this on the KLM site.

In addition, there are probably other companies that have WIFI on board.

    Good trip.

This is possible at EVA Air, for a fee.
You can indicate and pay when booking the ticket.

You will not be able to charge most laptops via USB, contrary to what some write here, tablets and telephones can be charged that way. So you will have to check whether there is a normal socket available to charge the laptop.

For the wifi just google 'inflight wifi'.

    Hi Jenny,

I always fly with FINNAIR, and there I'm always online, and phone, tablet and laptop can be charged when you plug them in.

    Good luck Henry

Ask that question to KLM. In this year, almost all Boeing 777s were supposed to be equipped with Wi-Fi. But I don't know if that was successful.

2 hours of free WiFi at emirates

To charge a laptop you probably need a 110/220 volt outlet.
I have not been able to discover this anywhere near an airplane seat, probably this is not allowed for safety reasons.
A USB charger is usually there.

The connection is via satellite and is probably fast enough to check some mail or send messages.
Video call or websites with moving images I think will work very slow or not at all.

Etihad, wifi paying. You can charge both USB and with your own charger.

At Turkish Airlines I have good experience regarding wifi in the plane.

At Eva air you can no longer buy a WiFi voucher when booking. Only the nth plane can do that for ridiculously high prices (and very few mb's). Eva Air was a super airline, but unfortunately it is becoming less and less…

With KLM, things are indeed going smoothly. However, I don't really see why this would be decisive in the choice of your company? Aren't other factors much more important?

Used the free wifi a few times at Emirates. Just out of curiosity, to see if it would work. It hardly did that in practice, extremely slow and therefore basically unusable for anything more than a simple email.
Better to use the time on the plane to communicate with your fellow traveler (s) instead of staring at your screen high in the air……….
