Dear readers,

At which private hospital in Thailand can I get a Covid vaccine from Janssen or Astra Zenica for a fee now or within a few weeks (not until October)?

In response to an article in The Thaiger that private hospitals will offer Moderna for a fee in October, I was curious whether there are already private hospitals that offer previously approved vaccines such as Astra Zenica or Janssen for a fee?

I've done a small search on the internet (eg Bangkok Hospital), but haven't come across one yet. An advantage of getting the shot here in Thailand is that if you return to Thailand there will be no hassle about the authenticity of the vaccination certificate, I think. Moreover, you are protected earlier than getting the vaccine in NL.

Regards,

Eddy

The same problem applies to me, I would like to go to the Netherlands next September. You already mentioned the benefits of vaccinating in Thailand, biggest benefit protected when traveling.
I have also made several attempts and informed hospitals, but for the time being not before October you will be eligible for a payable vaccination. I'm not married, I don't have a yellow booklet and a pink ID card, so I don't see any possibilities through the regular circuit.
There is no other option than to continue to monitor developments, in particular the rules for return on a certain date. Hopefully things will be a bit better at the beginning of October and you can re-enter Thailand without too many problems. As a fellow sufferer, I wish you success and myself too of course..

i live in chiangmai. Registered with Chiangmai RAM. Which hospital did you register with? And what are the costs?

      • Nicky says up

At the MC. COrmick at no cost. I wonder if it will actually be our turn on July 11th

The annoying thing is that the modern vaccines that are offered must be paid in advance. So pay 3400 baht now. For vaccination (1st shot) in October. The vaccines will only be ordered if there is sufficient interest, so money has been received. That decision will be made at the end of July. There is no possibility of a refund if things don't go through. Nothing is known about how and when the 2nd injection can be given. In short… a pretty uncertain situation.

At the Chularat Hospital, the reservation costs 2400 baht for 2 injections and if it is canceled, you will get the money back. In the end, the price is 3400 baht. If the vaccine is available but you have already used another option, you can register someone else. In my opinion it is a utopia to think that if you are not registered yet that you will be helped by the government before the end of this year.

Unfortunately for many in Thai, but with a translation program also easy to register successfully.

I registered and paid 4000 Baht in advance at Memorial Pattaya Hospital. I didn't hear anything there that said those vaccines would only be ordered if there is enough interest.

I think there is interest anyway given the registrations in that hospital were stopped after 2 days with the reason being fully booked.

I was not informed about a first and second injection. Only that it would normally be before October. I suppose that second jab a month after the first will not be a problem… It would still be missing.

I had already registered a month before and I would be called if there was new information or further registration options. You guessed it, I still have to be called. I was told by an acquaintance that this opportunity was offered and registrations were possible until the 26th. As you indicated, after two days, well before this last day, registration was already full.
The latter caused a lot of commotion among foreigners who still wanted to use the option on that day and who do not live next door. Some still managed to achieve their goal with a decisive action, but guarantee that remains to be seen. However, money would be refunded if delivery could not be made in due course, in October. The whole situation gives me little confidence, but hopefully it will continue for those who have already paid and are registered. Incidentally, above 4000 baht, doctor's costs and nurses' costs will also be passed on, because the sun rises for nothing.

Not 100% on topic, but still relevant. Many Dutch people will probably not opt for a paid vaccine and there is therefore a good chance that they will receive the Sinovac vaccine as soon as it is their turn. This is a vaccine from China that is NOT used in the Netherlands and even Europe. More and more articles are also appearing that Sinovac does not or hardly protects against the Delta variant of the Coronavirus. Apart from the latter, I wonder to what extent the Netherlands accepts the Sinovac vaccine. After all, nobody wants to be refused entry at Schiphol……….

    • willem says up

Sinovac has been approved by the WHO, just like the vaccines used in the Netherlands.

    • fred says up

The Sinovac vaccine is used in Europe, not much, but still. Hungary uses it.

I was in a private hospital yesterday due to the annual recurrent signing of a compassionate statement from one of my pension funds.
The nice doctor only talked about Sinovac and she said that the degree of protection was low.
She had never heard of Jansen and Jansen or Johnson and Johnson.
This gives hope for the future, Janneman first looks at the Thai cat from the Thai tree.

I am going Warinchamrap 1-07-2021 for free today

    Sorry Astrazenica

  9. Roly says up

Was with the first registrations in early May (pink ID ) for Astra zeneca
First shot June 15, but no more Astra zeneca available so sinovac. You have no choice or nothing.
Sinovac also protects and is approved by Europe.
Second injection on July 13 (with Astra zeneca this would have been the end of September)
Certainty of Astra zeneca ??? (future patients)
    To something better than nothing

From today 1.07 one could register with the private hospitals such as BKK Pattaya hospital for the moderna vaccine at the price of 3400 Baht.

This announcement officially appeared on the hospital's website.

When I opened the site this morning at 8 am and my wife wanted to register, it turned out that it was no longer possible with the message Sold Out.

I don't know to what extent one can take all this seriously.

    Important announcement regarding Moderna vaccine
Thank you for your wish to book this vaccine with us. Unfortunately, due to the large number of pre-orders for vaccines, it is now fully booked.
Therefore, reservation for the Moderna alternative vaccine is closed. However, if in the future there is any new reservation we will inform you.
Please follow the news of the hospital via the following channel listed below:
    Website: http://www.bangkokpattayahospital.com
    LINE Official: @bphhospital
    Facebook page: Bangkok Hospital Pattaya

Did all those people make reservations during the night??

    • Jacques says up

I was registered weeks ago in Bangkok hospital Pattaya, but have not heard anything about it. Yesterday I looked at their website and I had to keep an eye on Facebook, but I don't have Facebook and don't want to. The same thing happened to me at the memorial hospital in Pattaya where I am registered. VIa others should be told that registration was possible for the moderna vaccine, but everything was already full on arrival and I was able to turn around. What do you mean credible you are just being lied to and not taken seriously.

  11. Maurice says up

Bit off topic but if people get vaccinated
outside the Netherlands, it is not (yet) possible to register this in the Netherlands. RIVM does not (yet) have a system for this.
It is a pity that the Dutch embassy does not have a vaccination program for its citizens.
