Dear readers,

I was wondering if it is possible to rent a safety deposit box at a Thai bank (SCB or Bangkok bank), does anyone know?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Michel

That's possible, we also have one at SGB, but in my wife's name and you have to wait until one becomes available. But I guess that depends on how many safe deposit boxes there are in the bank.

In 20 years I have not seen the possibility to rent a safe deposit box at a bank in Thailand.

If you have an account with a bank here, and if a safe is available.
Then it is certainly possible to rent a safe.
I've been renting a safe since the beginning when I came to live here permanently.
Even in that time I have already switched from a safe at another bank.
Passport and residence permit plus home address and of course a bank account with the bank where you rent the safe are required to open the contract.
You can access the safe in your name alone or in both your spouse's names.
