Dear readers,

Is it currently possible, if you fly with KLM to Bangkok from Schiphol, to hand in your suitcase at the drop-off if you have already checked in online or do you have to go to the check-in desk because of possible checks on vaccination documents?

Does anyone have a (very) recent experience with this?

Regards,

Toine

Checked in online yesterday. I didn't receive a boarding pass but had to pick it up at the check-in desk today. Dropoff was therefore not possible. To my surprise, everything went very smoothly. I got through everything within half an hour and am now sitting in the lounge waiting to board.

Drop off klm I don't know but there are external parties who come to pick it up at home 24 hours before departure.
Only that is not necessary if you fly to Bangkok because the queues in the evenings are not too bad, if they are there at all, otherwise it is business as usual. 3 hours before departure is sufficient, but also check the klm site, the eight times are indicated there and if you check daily a week before departure, you will know exactly.
    Success.

Just got back, on the outward journey we could check in online and drop off the luggage, only print your boarding card at the pole that is there, the Corona check was after customs, at a separate gate no. keep an eye on that, but you can do that in advance before your nd gate everything went smoothly
    Happy Holidays

Online check-in is great according to the KLM site. It saves so much time. Not so. You can check in online, but you will not receive a boarding pass. Then you can't lose your suitcase either. So just queue for the counter.
That went fast. But then the security check. You are sent from pillar to post. And then there are (counted and estimated) 800 people in front of you. (I estimate the European row at 1500 people.)
It took two hours. Actually quite fast.
    I'm talking about July 20th
I've looked into it - as far as a layman can - how that can be done. I think it's more the hopelessness of the procedures than the shortage of staff.
And the security experts were as grumpy as ever.
