Watching TV via the internet in Thailand?
Dear readers,
Can someone explain to me in easy language how True ID TV works? Still have a dish, but would like to look online.
What do I need?
Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Jo
Editors: Do you have a question for the readers of Thailandblog? Use it contact form..
That is easy. First buy a Smart TV (or do you already have one?). A good one is Hisense, you already have it for around 10.000 baht. Then make sure you have a reasonably fast internet connection, for example via 3BB (costs about 700 baht per month). Connect the modem to the TV using a network cable and go with that banana. If you also put the Ziggo (borrow the login details of someone with a Ziggo subscription) and Netflix app on your TV, you can watch Dutch TV and stream movies.
Ziggo on a Smart TV will not work without a VPN.
Then you will have to purchase an Android set-up box or something similar.
Nope, works perfectly. Without VPN.
Ziggo outside the EU does not work without a VPN.
John, I think so too because I also tried it with KPN and she told me that the program can be received abroad, after which I asked outside Europe, he told me that will not work.
I think ziggo is no different.
Interesting. We're going soon. Do have ziggo go on my laptop. Does that also work in Thailand without a VPN?
bought an iptv box and from justin buckham stays on phuket the subscription a 2500 baht per year works fine, is on facebook
Purchase an IPTV box and take out a subscription €80 per year
And of course an internet connection
Nowadays, iptv boxes also have an hdmi connection in addition to a network (RJ45) connection.
It would be useful if the TV also has an HDMI connection. Network connection to the TV is not necessary. A TV signal is also not necessary, but a fast internet connection is.
Connect the internet router directly to the iptv box.
With a subscription you can download more than 12000 channels from all over the world.
I have an LG smart TV and the True ID TV box and WiFi. Everything set up by True's technicians. You do need to install the True ID app on your mobile phone. The costs are okay. I also have English premier league football. Perfect picture without any stutter. Inquire at the true shop. Good luck!!!
Thanks will have a look at the true shop
Does anyone know a way to watch KPN-Itv via WiFi in combination with VPN Express? Officially it is not possible so no support from KPN, maybe someone can tell if it can be done via a detour, possibly with the necessary settings, would be nice.
Kees
Assuming you have a subscription resp. that you can log in to KPN-itv, you can download the app on a computer or laptop. (Windows or Apple doesn't matter)
Then set VPN Express to Amsterdam or The Hague and connect to WiFi.
Then you start the KPN app and it should work if a normal working WiFi signal is available.
Please note that if you use an android box or android telephone it is very possible that KPN still detects that you are using a VPN and does not allow access, you will be notified of this.
But on Windows it works in the way described above, I've seen it work like this here.
Thank you very much for your response Pam.
I think android is detected.
I'm going to try again on the laptop after returning to Bangkok from our trip to Koh Larn.
