Register ING and telephone number?

Dear readers,

My ING scanner crashed and I have now requested a new one, but you cannot activate it without a telephone number. How is it possible that I can register a Thailand telephone number with ING?

Does anyone have experience with these problems?

The ING website says to come to the ING office in the Netherlands, but that is quite a distance to register a telephone number.

Regards,

Jerry

ING has an office in Bangkok, perhaps they can help you.

Address: 7th Floor, Sindhorn Tower I, 130-132 Wireless Rd, Bangkok 10330

    Telephone +66 2 2633301-14

A quick call with Ing is then added manually, at least that's how it was done for me

Indeed, you register a telephone number under the Service heading in MijnING. But you have a broken scanner and so you can't log in. Then you need Customer Service. Just old-fashioned via the telephone. Call +31 20 22 88888. Definitely ask an employee on the line. https://www.ing.nl/particulier/klantenservice/telefoonnummers
Keep your debit card at hand. Explain the situation and go through the necessary steps with the employee in your MijnING environment: enter the telephone number, activate the scanner. If you do have that employee at hand, immediately install the ING app on your phone(s) and your tablet (if you have one). If all else fails, discuss with the employee whether you have a family member or close friend. knowledge in the Netherlands.

Soi, I could be wrong, but you don't need a scanner to log in, do you? For confirmation of, for example, a payment order. According to ING, you must first log in to activate the scanner. So it seems to me that the person asking the question can simply log in and then change his telephone number in 'my details'. Scanner has replaced the previous TAN codes. If you have a suitable telephone, downloading the ING app is even easier.

It seems to me that in 2023 someone will only be able to log in to their 'MijnING' environment with a username and password. This can be done either via the app (the questioner does not have it) or via an SMS code (which also does not work because no telephone number is known).

    Hi Jerry
Log in via the ING app.
CLICK on service at the bottom right.
    Then Personal Data.
    Here you can change everything.
    Good luck!

Diny, if you already have the ING app, then the person asking the question does not need a scanner at all. The scanner is intended for people who do not own a 'modern' telephone. The scanner has been made available for this group of people. So the choice is: Either the App, Or the scanner. The questioner probably does not have a suitable telephone to download the App, so he cannot arrange anything via the App. However, he can access 'my ING' via a computer. nl' log in and then arrange his affairs.

Dear, from your story I understand that you live in Thailand. Then you also changed your address with ING when you emigrated. You can still log in to 'mijn ing.nl' and go to 'my details'. You can then change your details there and also enter your new (Thai) telephone number. They can't make it any easier. As a second option, you could also purchase a suitable telephone and install the ING app on it. That works much easier. Then you no longer need the scanner at all. Good luck.

Just call the Amsterdam head office. They then mutate everything you want to change. I did that too, piece of cake.

    Hi Jerry.
ING's slogan is: ING thinks along with you.
So point this out to ING and ask if you can find your telephone number at ING in Thailand. can have it registered because I think they also have a branch in Thailand.
    Greetings.
    Christ.

It is now 11:35 am in Amstyerdam. I assume you have already called ING. Let us know how things went as a lesson for all those who still do not bank via the app.

Soi, you are right. The login procedure for 'my ing' has indeed changed as you indicated. My apologies to the questioner for my incorrect advice.

    • Raymond says up

First log in via computer 'mijn ing.nl'. You go to 'service', then to 'my details', where you can change/adjust your telephone number. Otherwise, follow the advice of other commenters and call ING.
