Dear readers,

Does anyone have experience with cycling holidays in Thailand? I would like information about local companies that organize cycling holidays. I am looking for a bike tour from Bangkok to Phuket or from Bangkok to Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

Regards,

Marius

Can be done very well. An acquaintance from Ghent cycled around Thailand for 3 months. Bought a touring bike in Chiang Mai. Then, Chiang Rai, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Phishit. By train to Bangkok. Then by plane to Vietnam for 4 weeks and then back to Bangkok to cycle south, but first I was a lot more easterly. to samut Prakan, Chonburi, among others. Back via the coast and then south via Samut Sakhon, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, Chumpon, Surat thani to Phuket.
Sold the bicycle there and returned to Brussels by plane (lives in Ghent).

Oh yes, always sleeps at people's homes via the Surfcouching app.

Oh yes, hotels or sleeping accommodation on the way. Hotel rooms on average a 500 bath is 12.50 euros. Sometimes even with breakfast.

Make sure to drink enough on the way. Usually there is something for sale along the road every 5 km. Land is NOT uninhabited. Eat and drink along the way. Tire patches also no problem, a 5 bath sometimes costs 20, but that is the maximum. Tire change complete 80 bath.

There are several companies that organize cycling trips of several days.
In Chiang Mai there is Click&Travel, which is owned by a Belgian who provides guided and unaccompanied
tours organized. We've done three of them.
Co van Kessel and Andre Breuer are based in Bangkok, search the internet and you will see a lot of information about their tours.

      Dear Ria,

I know the above companies well, except for Click&travel, but Co van Kessel and Andre Breuer are only for day trips in and around Bangkok, mainly for day tourists.

Asian Way of Life in the Netherlands is recommended for unguided cycling tours. They have several very nice routes in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

    Dear Marius,
I myself have more than 10.000 Thai kilometers in my legs. Etienne Daniels' Clickandtravel is the very best organizer, but he is based in Chiangmai and therefore has the most tours in the North. He provides the best bicycle (custom) helmet, bags ect. Clear description of your trip and you can indicate how many km you want to pedal per day. He also provides accommodation, all minus 3 star hotels.
    Bike & enjoy
