Home » Reader question » Reader question: From Hua Hin to BKK airport what are the alternatives?
Dear readers,
There is a fantastic bus from Hua Hin directly to BKK airport. Travel time 3 to 4 hours. Unfortunately I can't use that this time, because I have to be at the airport fairly early. Can go a day earlier and spend the night in a small hotel nearby.
Other option, besides taking an expensive taxi, is to take the bus from Sa-Song road (behind Night Market) to Victory Monument and from there via Phaya Thai the City Line or ARL to Suvarnabhumi airport.
Does anyone have experience with this, or are there other options?
With kind regards,
Jan
I used to drive a minibus once. The problem with these vans is that besides not being so comfortable, you can hardly take luggage with you or have to pay extra for it.
When we go, we will also leave a day earlier and spend the night near the airport. I think is almost as expensive as a taxi and you have the advantage of being assured of getting to the airport on time.
I wouldn't take the risk of taking a means of transport with which you have no experience yourself.
A taxi is not that expensive, what do you pay in the Netherlands?
Indeed, comparing the taxi prices here with the Netherlands is correct. Then the taxi from Hua Hin to airport is 2000 Barth, not expensive at all. Not compared to the bus of course.
Go to our taxi driver's Facebook. He has already ridden many Dutch Hua Hin riders
search for: Rush Taxi. He drives for 2200. Maybe something can still be done. Definitely go for a good taxi and a good driver.
We always take a taxi from Cha-Am to Bangkok and pay 2200 bath
Thanks to Thailandblog we tried Mr.Rush's service and nothing but praise. Arrived safely every time for a favorable price. Thanks for the information!
the only thing i know take a taxi, there is an office in Hua Inn center
Cost 5000 baht
If you pay 5.000 baht for a taxi, you better become the personal sponsor of the taxi driver. A normal price Hua Hin -BKK is 2.000 baht.
Indeed about 2000 to 2500 thb maximum. And that also applies to farangs Johan :-).
We recently paid from Jomtien to Hua Hin back and forth: 6000 Baht
Man for 5.000 Bhat he will take you to Laos and even further.
if I have to be at the airport early I take a cheap hotel near the airport. Just take the bus, the free shuttle to and from the hotel. Nice and relaxed within 15 minutes to the airport and a bed to rest until the end. All together cheaper than a taxi!
I would recommend that you travel to the airport a day earlier by bus… from the airport you can take a free transfer to, for example, the hotel BS Residence… stay there one night and relax the next day with a free transfer (only 5 min drive) back to the airport.
The hotel is located near a market where you can enjoy a nice meal in the evening or you can go to the Paseo shopping center, which is a bit smaller for Thai standards…many stalls…!!!
A taxi is the best and the cheapest solution.
Depending on the type of car, you pay between 1800 and 2400 Baht for a ride to the airport. There are plenty of companies in Hua Hin that offer their services.
A taxi is not the cheapest solution (see message from soi80). The fastest solution is. I usually take the Luxury VIP Airport-Hua Hin bus (http://www.airporthuahinbus.com/) Not expensive and a lot of legroom in this bus (fewer seats) in 2013 the price was 305 thb. Now maybe a little more expensive but it won't be much. You sit in this much better than in a minibus. You can board on Phetkasem Road at the bus station at Soi 96/1. I would recommend this connection and then, as mentioned earlier, take the free transfer to hotel BS Residence at the plane. (Great hotel and there is still plenty to do in the area) The money you save for the taxi can be put in a good room in this hotel.
Plane must of course be an airport.
Bus cost now reduced to 294 Baht. I do not know when this took effect, but I traveled from the airport to Huahin on March 10 with this bus for B.294
that's strange, I went to the airport with the VIP bus in January, but it was 309 bath. Minibus was 180 and 180 separately for suitcase
You can go to Bangkok by minivan. Cost 180 bath per person. If you tell the taxi driver in Bangkok to take a taxi to the airport. it stops on the side in Bangkok.. And from there you can take a taxi to the airport. Costs approximately between 400 and 500 bath, with the minivan 2 hours taxi 1 hour, forgetting the toll road is still 100 bath with taxi. soi 80
on soi 67 or 69 I took a taxi for the 2 of us with a lot of luggage for 1700 bath.
Best and fastest way is taxi (2000 to 2200 bath) Toyota Camry
travel time 2 hours
Just go to a hotel and rested on the road. Have a nice trip.
The best way is via the minibus service
250 pp and then grab a room near the airport.
Unfortunately I lost the name but it was a nice clean hotel with a dining tent next to it.
and 40 minutes from airport. a taxi from bkk center to bkkaairport is usually around 350 baht if you have a taxi meter
takes.
In my opinion, all people who pay 2000 or more for a taxi simply pay too much. I go to the airport from Huahin every time for 1600 Bath. I paid 1800 Bath back at the time, but have been taking the bus for some time now.
We always take a taxi from Suvarnabumi to Hua Hin, this costs 2500 TBt.
We always pay back 1500 TBt.
what we do is just drive to lat trabang a day in advance and book a nice hotel with a taxi service to the airport which is very pleasant
I would definitely opt for an overnight stay near the airport. You can already book one (online) for €16 (= 550 THB). You just take the bus the day before your departure, as you always do, to the airport (or possibly to elsewhere in Bangkok) and let yourself be taken (free) by the hotel shuttle bus. This solution is cheaper and more comfortable than taking a taxi. You will probably be able to sleep longer and therefore better rested on your journey.
I would not recommend using public transport or getting to the airport early as it is too stressful.
Thanks for all the responses. I have now informed and 1600 TBt can be brought.
Done last month.
We stayed at Dusit Thani, because of our early flight we could not take a shuttle bus.
Arranged a taxi at market village, who picked us up and brought us to Suvarnabumi.
To the left of the shopping center is a booth.
Cost 1600 Baht.
