Has anyone taken their dog to Thailand recently?
Dear readers,
Has anyone taken their dog to Thailand recently? I read somewhere that the dog must be quarantined for 30 days upon arrival. But I don't read anything about that in various (older) posts on the media. Was a matter of showing papers, paying and taking the dog. As I said this is from years ago, maybe this has been adjusted with 30 days of quarantine.

The quarantine rule still exists, but in practice it is not implemented for dogs from Belgium or the Netherlands. That has been the case for years. But the official does have the right to impose quarantine, for example if he thinks the dog looks weak or sick. If your dog is healthy and all your paperwork is in order, things normally go as you write. That's how it went for us 5 years ago. If the dog also has to return to the Netherlands or Belgium, look carefully at the conditions. These are stricter than those of Thailand
Our dog came with us in November. No quarantine. It is like François says, if your papers are not in order, they could do this. In practice this will rarely happen.
I can't say that the return is more difficult. Just received all papers in Phuket, chip check on the dog of course and we are going back. The guidelines are available on the NVWA website.
