Dear readers,

In August I hope to leave from Brussels with Etihad for 3 weeks to beautiful Thailand and it looks like this will continue, now that I hear again that the Thailand pass will also be canceled in June / July. But for the return journey I can no longer see the wood for the trees, so my question for you.

Do I need a negative COVID test to board from BKK to Abu Dhabi? After a transfer of about 2/3 hours, do you also need a negative COVID test from Abu Dhabi (UAE is on the white list on the Belgium site) to BRU? I have been informed upon arrival in Belgium that you must show or hand in a PLF form. I am a resident of NL and will leave the country within 24 hours after landing in BRU.

Short:

BKK- AUH. COVID testing?
transfer of 2/3 h
AUH- BRU. COVID testing?

I have been vaccinated 3 x including booster.

I'd love to see your reactions

Regards,

Michael

Etihad only applies the rules of the destination country. Something you can easily find on the Etihad website. For your outward and return flight it is both No. No test

You must assume the measures that apply in the country you are flying to (in this case, Belgium). An airline may check that. The transfer in Abu Dhabi is not important as you do not leave the transfer zone. But you can assume that by then all measures will also have expired in Belgium….

I came home with Etihad at the beginning of March and didn't have to test for Abu Dhabi and Brussels. In February, a test was still needed for Abu Dhabi, even if you were in transit.

I just flew back from Phuket-Abu Dhabi-Amsterdam and didn't need anything at all
