Groupage shipping to Thailand?
Dear readers,
My wife and I are planning to move to Thailand in the middle of this year. For that reason we want to send personal items, clothing, footwear, a computer, some valuables and jewelry, an elongated soundbar, and other smaller items (diplomas, documents, statements, etc.) via so-called groupage. We think we need about 3 cubic meters.
I found 2 websites that offer groupage: https://www.transpack.nl/ and https://www.windmillforwarding.com/home/.
Of course there are many readers who have engaged one of these companies (or perhaps another company). I would like to be informed of experiences and what to take into account? For example also with the costs charged for groupage shipment, and how long does it take?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Hans

Windmill Forwarding
Good experience
Made a shipment to Bangkok 4 years ago without any problems.
No hassle with customs etc.
Was neatly delivered
Price was also reasonable.
At the end of this month, my goods will go into storage on demand and hope to receive them in June – July in Bangkok.
The price was a bit higher than 3 years ago but still reasonable.

Top company !!!
Hi Hans,
I have a very good experience with windmill forwarding.
September 2021 I emigrated to Thailand. My things went into a container, neatly picked up at home and delivered neatly to Thailand about 10 weeks later. Good communication too.
Windmill provides clear information in advance, including about customs. And they also handle customs in Thailand for you.
Another tip: I brought my laptop, diplomas and jewelery with me as hold and hand luggage. I thought that was safer and that resulted in no checks and therefore no import duties and hassle with customs in Thailand. When shipping, everything is checked by Thai customs on the basis of the inventory lists. And some goods are heavily taxed when imported into Thailand!
Good luck with the move and lots of fun and happiness in your new life in Thailand!
MarkL
Without a doubt Windmill Forwarding.
November 19, 2021 everything collected for groupage shipment,
January 6, 2022 departed from Rotterdam
February 20, 2022 arrived in Lat Krabang
March 3, 2022 everything neatly delivered to our house.
No problems what so ever
In December 2019 I had a 20 foot container shipped via Transpack in Rotterdam.
I can recommend this company 100% clear communication and tips.
However, I did take my desktop computer with me on the plane as luggage.
Watch your import / customs costs. This can just become a very expensive joke.
