Dear readers,

My sister is going on holiday to Thailand for a month, now she can only eat gluten-free bread, is that easy to obtain?

We are in Korat for 3 weeks and Pattaya for 1 week.

Regards,

Geert

Read my blog about Thailand http://missglutenvrij.nl/2016/01/03/reisverslag-glutenvrij-in-thailand-2015/

I would use rice as a substitute. Available everywhere and even in the form of noodles. So gluten free.
Just pay attention, if it concerns celiac disease, the additions are sauces.

Thank you Harmke, not for myself, but with your report I can be of service to others who, due to their gluten allergy, have not yet dared to visit the wonderful Thailand.

Yes, it would be nice to know where to get gluten free products, and not just rice noodles.
And it is certainly nice to be able to eat a gluten-free sandwich or gluten-free pastry.

Rice is, by definition, gluten-free. (although some specialists do put it: gluten free. Why don't they put it: elephant teeth free, etc.??).
So.. enjoy the Thai kitchen for a while, and forget that NLe bread…

By the way: that nonsense with "arsenic in rice (waffles)" that Foodwach came out with, followed by really every idiot who can write with the comment: "change food, not rice every day (waffles to your little ones"...
My question: “How is it possible that people still live between Pakistan and Japan? 365 days a year, 3 meals of rice a day from pregnant to toddler to old man, and that over millennia… then the entire population must have long since died out from arsenic poisoning…”.
