Dear readers,

Fortunately, the end of the corona chaos is coming to an end. When we were still in the middle of it, sending a package from the Netherlands was a bit like buying a state lottery ticket. Read many messages about it on this blog, sometimes positive but very often negative. I haven't read anything about this subject in recent months, which may mean that everything is going reasonably smoothly again.

I am disabled and no longer able to move with a large suitcase + a small suitcase. Everything is neatly described on the Post NL site, but that is so far theory, but the practice may be different.

Hence my question about your experiences with sending a package from the Netherlands?

It concerns a package of (I hope) just under 10 kilos. Basically with Post NL but any other tips are also welcome.

My thanks.

Regards,

Peter

Peter, I had a package sent by Postnl last October, registered and weighing just under 10 kilos. It took just under 3 weeks for me to receive it.

Peter, last year I received several packages via post nl of about 5 kg. I live in the heart of Isaan, always took 2 weeks, without any problems

Pete, my wife and I sent a package of just under 2 kilos to her family twice during the corona pandemic with Post NL, it arrived at its destination within three weeks, only cost a little more than before due to Covid, otherwise without any problems.

Goes fine via PostNL. Make sure that it does not contain any prohibited goods. So are perfumes (because they are subject to excise duty).

Sent something on March 1, arrived in Surin on March 10. That was very fast. Normally I count on 2 weeks, at the beginning of Corona it took 4 weeks. But always arrived!

Track & Trace gives you some insight into where the package is, but costs more. Sometimes there is no other way. Anyway, PostNL and Thailand Post are reliable, I wouldn't worry about that.

Only registered with Post NL. Other ways also pass through customs and that will cost money. Time depends on how often KLM flies to Bangkok.

Had a package of 2 kilos sent by Postnl track & trace on March 2 and it arrived at the post office in Huahin on Saturday March 12. Had no problem.
The costs for shipping were Euro 30,55 including insurance worth Euro 500
