Dear readers,

I respond to the ferry Pattaya – Hua Hin. Does anyone already have experience? I am going to Cha-am from Pattaya this month. As you can read, this is faster and cheaper for 2 people.

Greetings,

Joan

faster especially when he sails. (High waves no sailing) certainly not cheaper: 2 persons 2500 Baht one way.

Certainly faster when it sails. But the transfer from Hua Hin to Cha Am will also cost you a dot. With the luxury bus from Bell Travel it will cost you 389 baht per person (50 baht extra for internet bookings). Travel time 5 hours.

The ferry departs from the pier at Khao Takiab. 1 ferry per day at 13:30. Would definitely book 2 days in advance. Costs: 1,200 Baht p/p one way. Sailing time: about 2 to 2.5 hours. With strong wind and/or high waves, the sailing time is of course longer or it doesn't sail at all..!

The bus from Bell company (see info response above) is a more reliable and cheaper option (389 B.)
By bus from Pattaya to Cha am is about 5 hours in a comfortable coach and saves you the transfer time and costs from the pier to Cha am. Good trip!

    Took this in February
Everyone on boat is dead sick
    I'll spare you the details
    At least I never again

Whether you will save a lot of time if you want to go to Cha Am I doubt. There is at most, and then everything has to go perfectly, an hour's gain. Don't forget that you should be at the pier an hour before departure. Check in, embark…. Disembark, arrange transportation to Cha Am…. knowing that it takes about 5 hours by bus, there will not be much time savings. It is certainly not cheaper, it will be twice (and more) as expensive.
However, you can consider it as an experience in itself. A crossing by high speed catamaran is an experience in itself. I do it regularly from Chumphon to Koh Samui and that “everyone” gets sick… ??? Never got sick on a catamaran and have already made the 4-hour crossing to Koh Samui with decent waves. One person's stomach is more sensitive than another's. In case of little wind, the feeling is just like on a bus, no more nor less.
If you don't have to watch the money, then do it. Is something different than always traveling by bus.
