Dear readers,

I want to transport a Buddha statue to the Netherlands in a while. Of course I first go to the Department of fine Arts for the export documents. It concerns a statue of approx. 140 cm high with a weight of approx. 35 kg.

Which carrier is the best/cheapest way to send it to the Netherlands (and do they have an office/delivery point in Bangkok)?

Regards,

Henk

As far as I know, you are not allowed to perform a Buddha image.

You can, but you must also have permission from the “council of Monk” and the statue must be sealed (leaded) in the “Department of Fine Arts” or “National Museum”.
In Chiangmai these are located in Thapae Rd!
You can also hand over a photo and of course pay a “fee”.
And don't forget the invoice for transport,
      I myself used a lot of Schenker(DB)

Please contact Windmill Forwarding in The Hague (see internet site)
These people have arranged my move from the Netherlands to Thailand more than excellently. Perhaps they can also mean something here. At least they have good permanent relationships in Thailand.

I have taken it with me before, and sometimes asked at the airport. Once they wanted to see the statue because it was a replica of Angkor Wat. no antiques are allowed. Also an elephant weighing 25 kilos, but I sent this by post and by ship in a collection container to Belgium Antwerp And from there back to the Netherlands, I did not pay import for it directly to the Netherlands, but every time.
Via the Boat approximately 3 months. But it was still in the same box and packaged the same. Often opened by post to the Netherlands. I would simply send it by post and by boat and delivered at home via Antwerp
Do you benefit from it and just ask at the office
    Greetings
