Car with driver for tour in Thailand
Dear readers,
My husband and I want to make a trip from Bangkok on our own over the Khorat plateau and visit Vientianne and part of Laos. Then travel via Chiang Rai towards Chiang Mai down via Ayutthaya and back to Bangkok.
We are elderly people of 76 and 79 years. Please advice where to rent a car with driver. I think in Khorat myself?

Hello Sonja,
A few years ago we did a private tour through the Isaan through Greenwood Travel (based in Bangkok). Our driver/guide spoke good English and knew a lot about the history of Thailand and the people. Hotels were arranged in advance by Greenwood Travel, well taken care of.
We did not go back to Bangkok, but were dropped off in Ayutthaya, and from there took the train to Chiang Mai. The tour lasted 10 days, but you can change that yourself in consultation with Greenwood Travel. Have very good memories of that, both of our driver, the trip and the organization of the travel agency.

We have had very good experiences with Greenwoodtravel in Bangkok for renting a car or minivan with driver for many years.
Just book this trip in the Netherlands if possible, it is often even cheaper than in Thailand.

Planning his trip takes a lot of time, you have to give this at least 4 to 6 months in advance, keep that in mind. If you go via Chiang Mai, sleep in the Dutch Guesthouse, then you will meet local Dutch people who will show you Chiang Mai. I never left Chiang Mai after that, this is a really great place for me to live.
