Dear readers,

Three weeks before my trip on April 2, I tested positive. From March 23 I have (now) a recovery certificate. Now I read on the internet that after a positive Covid-19 contamination, you are also required to have a Fit-To-Fly certificate if you travel to Thailand (including your international proof of recovery).

Does anyone know anything more about this?

Regards,

Dirk

    Dear Dirk,

    As far as I can see on the thailand pas website there is no fit to fly anywhere.
    Only an official statement (preferably from a doctor) from the first day on which the infections were detected.
    So a GGD test statement should be sufficient.

    You leave on April 2, but from April 1 you no longer need a PCR test and it is not an April Fool's joke

    From April 1, you no longer have to submit a PCR test to fly to Thailand. However, once you get there you should still be tested.

      Yes that's right and if you get tested positive there then you have to be quarantined for 5 days I'm also in the same problem I was supposed to fly on March 27 but have postponed it to April 19 with the proof of recovery and I hope for a negative test but if If he is positive then I will go into quarantine for those 5 days

    Hans, you must provide the correct information on this blog.
    Read the following discussion: Thailand Pass applied for and then got corona
    Started March 21.

    You do not go into quarantine if you are tested positive with the Test&Go PCR test and you have proof of recovery (after you have recently had covid) and a statement of good health from a doctor

    I'm not going to explain it in detail here, look up that earlier recent discussion about this.
    I received this information in writing from the Thai embassy.

    Copies of your vaccinations.
    Get tested in a hospital 72 hours before your trip. fit to fly.
    Apply for a Thailand pass.
    Book a hotel for this test and go.
    If you test negative, you can leave the next day.
    If positive, you will be sent to a corona hotel.
    Insurance is requested upon arrival.
    Don't forget anything (including mouth masks).

    We arrived March 23. On arrival I tested negative, but my wife tested positive.
    This was also confirmed by self-tests brought along.
    She was transferred to corona hotel and I am quarantined in test and go of booking. Will both be followed up correctly and I will probably be allowed out of quarantine soon. She when she tests negative.

    Good trip

    Hi Ronnie,

    But that fit to fly certificate (which is actually a health statement from a doctor)
    that is not mandatory. (as far as I know now)
    But if you are tested positive, it can help that you don't have to go into quarantine?
    Otherwise I don't see the point of a fit to fly certificate. It costs 100 bucks!

    Gr Dirk

      I called Schiphol Airport Medical Services BV on Friday to ask if they can make a Fit to Fly on which they indicate that I am free of complaints.
      their answer was No we don't.
      Fit to Fly is what it says (you can fly) but this doesn't mean you're not corona free.

      The topic gets a bit confusing here, because Ronny doesn't mention in his story whether he was positive before flying and had a proof of recovery.

      I will report April 2 what it really is,
      I was tested positive for corona on March 16
      I'm going to get my PCR test on March 27, I already have the recovery proof from the GGD.
      I leave March 31 and am in Bangkok April 1.
      so April 2nd I can tell what happened to me.

      That fit to fly certificate was already abolished in April last year.

    The question is about the following I understand.
    Thailand Pass applied for and then got corona.
    The embassy writes the following about this:
    -Request new TP based on recovery certificate;
    -Recovery certificate also printed to Thailand;
    - A doctor's statement stating that you have recovered and are healthy;
    If you are tested positive on arrival, you do NOT have to be quarantined.

    Read the following discussion on Thailandblog.nl: Thailand Pass applied for and then received corona
    This discussion was started on March 21.
    It also states what should be included in that doctor's statement. The embassy is not talking about a fit to fly statement.

    I am personally experiencing this issue right now. We are flying in 2 weeks and I will also have myself tested here (in the Netherlands) before departure in the hope that those tests will be negative. So I'll take that with me. But that is your own initiative.
    The chance of a positive PCR test in Thailand is high if you have had corona even 8 weeks before arrival. Of course, we don't want any of us to have to be quarantined, so we have requested a new TP, a recovery certificate and a doctor's note. And so again, for extra certainty, I will take the Dutch tests with me, at least if they are negative for our entire family.
