We had it done. Rented a studio for a reasonable price in Cha-Am. And even better, a studio from a Dutchman. So what could happen to us?

Tired from the journey from Koh Samui to Cha Am, we were deported in Cha-Am on the advice of our Dutchman. Then we found out that the Studio was 10 km from Hua Hin, where we had passed by the bus. In the end, we should have got off right in Hua Hin. Now we had to drive half an hour back. Mistake, thanks.

We entered the VIP Condochain in good spirits, saw a large swimming pool and the sea, which turned out to be without a beach afterwards, and were completely happy. We received the key at the reception, our Dutch contact had to play football, so he could not come until later. We opened the door and … were shocked to death. There was a bedspread on the bed, stained with blood. Really nasty.

The Dutchman arrived more than 1,5 hours later and we immediately addressed him about this. However, he replied that the bedspread had been washed. It was then clear to us that we had to look for something else as soon as possible, we did not want to stay here. The Condo had 1 towel for each. There was a 1 burner electric stove and everything was less than minimal.

Afterwards we heard from superiors, Dutch, Germans etc. that they had also experienced something similar, it was sad. According to him, we get about 200 Euro back from our down payment of about 70 Euro. Because we had to stay one night due to the time we arrived, we didn't get the rest back. So for anyone who wants to spend the winter in Cha-Am, be warned.

The Condo turns out not to be his, he only arranges things for the owners of the Condos. But he is the one to address because he rents them out. We told him that too and then he was shocked. Despite this, he tries to pressure you. Be warned and don't do business with him.

We advise everyone to simply travel to Hua Hin or Cha-Am without a booking, take a hotel there and then look for a more permanent place to stay at your leisure. By the way, this also applies to Koh Samui.

How did it end for us? We have found a beautiful bungalow with 2 bedrooms near Hua Hin, huge living room. Close to a huge swimming pool, which we could use freely, which was also right on the sea. However, the sea is now so rough that it is not advisable to go swimming in it. The price of our bungalow is significantly lower than that of the Condo.

Back in the Netherlands next year, from March-April, you can read our events in the Thailandblog or on our website (with the photos). Don't let that stop you from going to Thailand for a trip or winter stay. The country is beautiful and the normal Thai will try to help you with everything.

Very sorry to hear that there are people who still do not give the hardworking holidaymaker what they offer. It might be useful to mention the name of the person so that other hardworking holidaymakers do not end up in the same boat. Do you have a good address to rent something in? hua hin if you want to go there again.

No names of persons are mentioned on Thailandblog, we are not a pillory and a story always has two sides.

        @moderator
It might be an idea to do it through some kind of numerical evaluation. Doesn't have to name people, but maybe apartment name and location.

        @arie and Marie
Better to rent something through Agoda? If the address is also included there, you could leave the evaluation there.

Furthermore, what is the GOOD address am still looking for something for 1 to 2 months in Cha-am or Hua Hin>

Just take a hotel in Hua Hin and look for something from there. That's the best way. We have rented a bungalow from a private individual (10000 bath p/m). However, for only 2 months you will not easily find something like this. Then you will quickly be stuck with an apartment. If you are a backpacker, I can give you an address for a cheap but also simple room.

      Hello

I am interested in those addresses, I want to spend the winter there in the future and live later, this will be the first time, so all information is welcome.

I rented a very nice cottage in Cha Am for 1500 baht per night. Cottage is located outside Cha Am in a beautiful setting next to a large fish pond. Nice new house with a restaurant next to it with great food, owner of the resort is a Brit, a nice man. I really enjoyed the peace there. If you are interested just send me an email [email protected]

      Find it abundantly.
1500 Baht is expensive especially if you stay somewhere longer.
In Bangkok we usually stay in King royal 2.
      For a suite for 15.000 a month
      http://kingroyalgarden.com/kingroyal2/promotion.html

Via Agoda you can click on a spot on the map and you will also see the hotels around it. Booking directly through a hotel often also gives a lower price. Especially if it can be arranged in Thai.

You cannot compare some places, 15.000 baht for a 60 m2 apartment close to the Skytrain is not expensive, but you cannot compare this with a house in nature.

1500 baht a lot? What nonsense, a nice new house in a beautiful environment, I don't think money. Highly recommended for nature lovers in a quiet environment. Rice fields and untouched nature. I asked the owner what a month costs, costs are 25.000 baht.

Bungalow with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a really huge living room with large kitchen 10000 bath p / m for a longer period. In Hua Hin. However, we will stay here until March 1.

          Dear Jan
Depends on a lot of things, I know you're partly right.
Because I am not allowed to enter specific names here the following.
Try entering Krabi as an example via Agoda. On the right side of the page you can enter a maximum amount per day. (set 20)
In the results you will then see several resorts just above Krabi in the local national park.
Stayed there with my wife. More that great.
Just pay attention to the comments that are often credited, but with more than 400 reactions and a good as assessment should not be bad, I think.

The warning is justified, also to first take a hotel and look around.
There are many houses, bungalows and condos for rent, there is always something available.
We ourselves rented a nice little bungalow, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, shower and nice living room and especially a very nice terrace with sitting area and dining area and small swimming pool.
All this is only 8 km. from Hua Hin. For us this is enjoying the wonderful weather in December and January, and all this at a very attractive price. One condition is that you must arrange for transport.
This can be car rental, scooter or tuk tuk or taxi.
Plenty to see in Hua Hin and lots of entertainment.

We are going to Hua Hin in January and are really looking forward to it. We have rented the same house as our friends from the Netherlands who wrote a comment. We came to this house through them, a beautiful house, we have seen pictures of it.

Arie and Marie said it is better to rent something from Agoda, I would also be careful with that, I have been traveling around constantly for more than 2 years, many places in Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam, sometimes it is not too bad, a few times very satisfied, but many times really disappointed!!! Photos on the Agoda website seem oh so beautiful, swimming pools to water your mouth, but some are barely a splash pool, fitness rooms on the photos also seem really fine, you see a few devices in a row, you think you think that's it, and when you get there it is semi-professional and not maintained. Usually when you look at the site there are still 1,2,3 rooms available, then you think that is something that is wanted. Then book you, after your booking you look at the site, still the same, same thing a week later, and that's about all my rooms that I've already booked there. It's just a handy trick of theirs to make you decide quickly .
Don't let your decision depend on whether breakfast is included or not, which is usually a plate of rice, an egg or some sausage and a 3 in 1 coffee, just about everywhere in the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand a little better, or you must book 4 or 5* dna do you have a breakfast you can call breakfast.
My Advice, book 1 night if you want to have a room immediately upon arrival and then look around or book via the agoda site or booking.com

    Mvg, Patrick

Sorry, but good reading is also an art. Have never mentioned Agoda or any company!!

Don't believe everything you can book.
And that certainly also applies to Dutch people who have something to offer, here in Thailand.
Advice is to buy a plane ticket to Thailand and spend one or two days in a hotel.
Then go to the place where you think you want to stay for a longer period of time.
Go there to obtain information yourself and bungalows, guest houses, etc., what you want to visit.
And negotiate personally , also with the Thai owner .
You see with your own eyes what you are renting and what it costs.
Is many times cheaper than booking with a travel organization.
And maybe you will find the place of your life with an ordinary Thai family.
I did this years ago in the USA.
Been there many times , all I did was arrange a plane ticket and rent a car .
When I arrived in the USA my search for a place to spend the night began.
Learned a lot from experience here.
But you don't have to be afraid and you have to be a bit evening-oriented.
Exactly the same for Thailand, don't be afraid.
Most people here are certainly willing to help you , only the language can sometimes be a problem .
Many speak little or no English .

    Greetings Jantje.

Have a look at this site: http://www.beststayinthailand.com
Beautiful large apartments with swimming pool for a very affordable price. And only 5 minutes drive from the center of Hua Hin. (Scooter) We had a great time at this quiet bungalow park. The pool is under the house in the shade with usually a fresh breeze. It belongs to a Dutch owner.

Have you also looked at the prices? A rather costly joke.
