Home » Reader Submission » Dutch and Flemish TV from BVN can now also be received via app in Thailand
Holidaymakers and expats in Thailand can now watch Dutch and Flemish television programs on a tablet or smartphone via a BVN app.
On BVN you can watch a selection of sports, news and entertainment programs from the Dutch and Flemish public broadcasters. An app has now also been released by popular demand. Until now, the channel could only be received via satellite or live stream on the website.
The app for iOS and Android BVN offers the viewer a daily selection from the current television offerings of the NPO and the VRT: news and current affairs, informative programs, sports – including NOS Studio France, the Tourjournaals and De Avondetappe – and Dutch-language drama.
The app is free to download for iPhones, iPads and Android devices. More info: www.bvn.tv/bvn-app

While reading John's article about receiving Dutch/Flemish TV for holidaymakers and expats, I thought it would also be good for Thais (mostly ladies) who are doing their Ad Appel A1 course. Especially news, for example, because they become familiar with what is happening here, how things work, etc., but in particular the familiarity with our language. A little more familiarity with the sounds, learning new words, generating new questions and therefore more conversation material with the Dutch/Flemish partner.
I do the same with things I read on Thailand blog, I inform her about it, often she already knows but also often I know before she does. And very slowly you will say more things to each other in Dutch / Flemish and she will also understand the news better. And you see visual material; also very important and therefore also get to know our country visually.
Regards Hansest.
