Lately I haven't heard many complaints about applying for a visa in Amsterdam or The Hague. I myself went to Essen in Germany again this week, only an hour's drive for me. It was very quiet in the embassy.

Handed over my passport. The embassy employee asked if I would like to have a coffee or maybe wait in the consulate. I went for breakfast around the corner where there are several restaurants.

Went back after 30 minutes: “Everything is ready, Hernn Withaar, we thank you for ihren besuch und wunschen ein clean aufunthalt in Thailand.”

An annual visa ready in 30 minutes and no difficult or stupid questions. I was there now for the 3rd time, always friendly, I say more than friendly.

For those who want to visit Essen, the address again:

Thailand consulate
Ruttenscheiderstraße 199
45131 Essen
Entrance on the side of the building

Hai Arie, just handed over a passport and asked for an annual visa? Doesn't seem likely to me, but could be. Please confirm, it would be nice if you got rid of all that paperwork.

Hi Eduard, It's very simple go to the website of consulate essen and print out the form and photos and of course just fill it in and drop it off as said, it's that simple.

What kind of visa are you talking about here?

Hello Arie. Sounds like a nice tip.
Here it is a 10 day wait I understand.
What do you have to bring to Essen, I assume to the Thai embassy?

Requested on Wednesday in The Hague last month. Registered delivery on Saturday! Very hospitable friendly embassy employee. You have the choice in The Hague: pick up in two working days or have it sent by registered mail. This shipping only takes place on Friday so take into account the two working days.

It's not too good to be true. But it really is.
.Went to Essen three months ago for a two month and a three month visa.
I had already filled out all the forms at home and brought everything with me
what was needed. The friendly lady said that I could pick up the visa in an hour.
Vielleich trinken Sie eine Tasse Kaffee um die Ecke. Bis gleich”. And so said so done.
After an hour the visas were ready.

What kind of annual visa are you talking about? Because this is not quite clear to me, it is difficult for me to get an annual visa, hence I do a language school, so how is it possible to get an annual visa?

    Kind regards Arjan

    • thick says up

Hello Arjan .may I ask about that language school?
How do you do that and where? I don't know if that is possible via pm?
      Gr Dick

      • Arjan says up

Chiang Rai, but there are several language schools where you can study Thai and get a visa.

I have a Non Immigrant multiply O. I have left the country at least once every 1 days. All required data/papers can be found on the website of the Embassy.

Conditions for an annual visa are well known, just look at the site of the Thai consulate. For example, the most important conditions are that you are over 50 and have at least 20,000 euros in the bank or a normal income. An alternative is to marry a Thai woman, then it is also allowed to be younger.

What kind of annual visa is this? And what documents were required? Only the passport and application form? Bvd and Mrsg, Danny.

I am very curious what you had to submit in terms of papers, the conditions and how much euros it cost to get that annual visa.
I am very curious and I thank you for the forthcoming information,
    Marine.

via visa plus in Naaldwijk everything is also arranged very quickly and you do not have to leave the house if you have a computer and can send emails and such.
I did this myself last year for a 1-year 50+ non-immigrant multiple entry, there are some additional costs, but I earn them back because I don't have to drive to the embassy myself and I don't have to spend a day getting there and back.

passport. 1 passport photo and proof of income, costs 150 euros.
and ready in half an hour.

      Dear Ari,
In your case you are right about the O annual visa, but this depends on the personal situation.
For someone who has a Thai as a marriage partner, different standards apply, and they do not have to meet a minimum age, nor do they have to provide proof of income. A copy of the marriage certificate, 2 passport photos, a copy of the Thai passport of the spouse, and the passport of the person who needs the visa, with a residence validity of at least 18 months at the start of the trip, in addition, often asked for a copy of the booking. It is best to look at the site of the Thai consulate, where the various options are clearly described.

A year visa for Thailand in half an hour in Essen Germany .
That's what I call German Grundlichkeit.
They can certainly learn something from that here at the Chiangmai immigration in Thailand.
I come there every year and again in a week after Songkran for my eleventh time, on the basis of a Retirement year visa extension.
I also filled out all my paperwork at home.
Before the crack of the Thai rooster and in the dark , early in the morning on the bike together with my Thai spouse .
From Pasang to ( about 50 km ) the Chiangmai immigration airport branch .
Hoping you get a number after a previously issued pre number for that day .
Otherwise it's the same story every year, come back to morrow.
If you are lucky , you will be helped in the afternoon .
Hours of waiting , and that every year .
11 years ago my first and second renewal also went pretty fast, but now it's hopeless.
Crowds of people already before eight o'clock in the morning.
A few years ago they had an online queue, but that is now also defunct.
Can't believe that it can be faster in Germany for a one-year visa.
You would almost consider booking a holiday in Holland and then arrange your annual visa in Germany.

I was at the immigration CM at 30:6 am on March 30 and the whole room was already full. I have decided to go to Mae Sai on April 22. An Italian friend gave me an address of an agent in town who can do it for 1000bt. Will contact this next time.
I had an OA visa in my expired passport, but this passport was withheld in Belgium when applying for a new passport. So apply for a new visa. Only got a visa O because they made a fuss about the 800 000 Bt on my Bangkokbank account book. It was claimed that it could possibly have been picked up the day before.

Checked with 3 different authorities, so the information below is correct.
    If Non-Immigrant-O:
a: apply in NL (or apparently also D): a 3 month Non Immigrant-O visa with single entry
b: after arrival in TH after 60 days: apply for extension 1 year Non Immigrant -O (i.e. 1 year extension)
c: in this case no border runs (just like with retirement visa = Non Immigrant OA)
    d: normal 90-day notification at one of the Immigration offices, such as Jomtien (since recently also online);
e: extension possible in TH after 1 year

  15. lung addie says up

my experience with the visa application:

consulate Antwerp: applied for a Non Immigrant 0 with the necessary, correctly completed documents: in 10 minutes outside and 4 days later the requested visa delivered at home by registered letter.
Here in Thailand, Chumphon Immigration Office (also called Ranong Immigration) with the necessary documents and bank guarantees, had the Non Immigrant 0 visa converted into a Retirement Visa…. out again in 15 minutes, after paying 1900 THB and everything in order…. no misery, hassle or whatever.
Don't see why some people have so many problems, but can think so.
    lung addie

    • Daniel VL says up

In CM, conversion from O to OA is not possible. Requested last week. Will see what one wants or can do at the end of my annual visa at the end of 2015.

      • he says up

I don't think you can convert this to an OA anywhere, you can only apply for it in your own country.
I think what is meant here is to convert non o 3 months to an annual extension based on retirement, but that is not OA
