Dear readers,

If you are in possession of a PSI9 setup box, you will no longer be able to receive BVN as of April 2nd, that's right. The permit has expired. You need to buy a new setup box model S-2 and then you can receive BVN again. according to the PSI helpdesk.

If you have other information, I would like to hear it.

BVN has been moved, no longer has number 258, is on letters bvn just above 000. I have moved bvn to 001 and have no more problem. Turn on the TV and bvn is on the screen.

If the permit expired, BVN would no longer exist at all. I suspect that the technology no longer supports the old box. After all, money has to roll, right?

Erik, here in Bangsaphan that doesn't work, haven't had any problems with it for 18 years, had my wife call psi (1247) and got the answer: is from the satellite because they don't have a permit. Now I can only receive bvn via the internet BVN is off but he is not alone, there are still a lot of channels off. Greetings.

has nothing to do with the satellite, my reception is still fine

TIP: http://www.nl-tv.asia/ is still free. Watch Dutch, Belgian, German, English channels live or delayed. Clear program schedule.

Dear Eric if you really can't get BVN install Epic Privacy Browser there is a VPN button on it
and a free download button for eg YouTube.
    Epic is free.
I managed to watch BVN in the Netherlands via this browser.
For example, to record a video clip, the vpn button must be green at the top right of the start page.

Strange all, have an ancient receiver of PSI and without adjusting anything, still receive BVN

Ho Ho can still be received, but somewhat cumbersome.
Took it out to an acquaintance yesterday.
    go to the menu
    channelsearch
    television channels
Then click on search via channel list and exit
It does not have a number, but it is listed as a BVN. is only quite cumbersome.

    look at them

Tried everything, to no avail. BVN nowhere to be found.

    Hallo,

PSI has sent me an email, but they don't talk about a new setup box.
    Attached the text!
I'm checking the list every day, but no success for me.
BVN will send an email when it has been resolved, but that has not happened yet.

    Text PSI:
    Dear John Kruse

BVN is no longer broadcast because of no license from National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC) This is the reason for no BVN on channel 285.

Hi PSI box BVN viewers, nothing has changed, look at your remote at the letter red button I press it, it says what your box receives, which should be; Thaicom 5c / Transonder 3640/H28066. then Pid V5158/A5159/P5158.
So Thaicom 5 c is still in the air at the same place and BVN is received on the above.
It may of course be the PSI that sells some new boxes, but there are several boxes with BVN for less than 1000 bht. take a look at Lazada satelitte boxes I believe a PSI box for less than 700bht so no Adroid box!
    Enjoy watching
    John

Dear PSI viewers, I just learned from a friend that his PSI Sat receiver is not receiving BVN, it may be that Sat receiv. has done an update, which means that the channels are gone. (note BVN is free on air) Maybe you can't if Erik Kuiper set the box to 000, and set Thaicon5 c in my previous post Transponder and Pid.

      Hi John.
Thanks for this tip and it works, I have two boxes, 1 of which is a very old one that I did not get to work, type SX and the other a psi 2 and it was no longer on the satellite thaicom 5 after an update. I get that old one when I click on press the red button nothing see no satellite either. Anyway, the mechanic couldn't do it either, just said he couldn't find a bvn. We had already found that out.
      Thank you sie

PSI told me the signal is too weak and should buy a bigger dish for the projs of 6000 baht.

Called a PSI mechanic. He indeed conjured BVN back within half a minute. Still on channel 258, only you will no longer see BVN on the overview.

I just watch BVN on my two year old box. BVN is if you make some effort in the system (enter with password and that is 0000 for me) and then sat list and search above 000 for bvn and it is in letters. Had a good look today so it could be your box.

As far as the dish is concerned, on the edges of the north and northeast, BVN recommends a hole disk of at least 2 meters in diameter NET and that means excluding the 2 cm edge. This will also be the case for the deep south or a slightly larger dish. I have a 1,85 m dish including the rim, a hole disc, and I have excellent reception. Live outside and there is nothing in the way.

I buy the dish and the LNB at PSI. If the reception is still bad, you can try a more sensitive LNB. LNB is that thing that hangs above the dish. Low Noise Whatever that means…. you read how technical I am…..

Login in the menu, password is usually 0000 or 9999
    Set default, (restore factory settings)
Then turn off the OTA in the menu (turn off automatic update)

PSI has found a new source of income in the last 2 years to hide channels through the automatic updates.

Unknowing customers are told to buy a new receiver.
BVN is a free to air channel, the signal is forwarded to Australia.
A fairly weak signal that is best received with the black chicken wire dish.

If the dish and LNB are properly adjusted, a signal strength of approximately 30% is achieved
(press the info button for this and do not pay attention to the quality)
Less than 23% means weak signal, so re-adjust the dish and LNB

LNB is the head that hangs above the dish, it must have a certain position relative to the dish.
PSI also has LNB heads with 2 connections for a TV receiver.
So if you want to watch TV in the bedroom you really don't need to install an extra dish for 6000 baht.

I had the same problem. Called 'our' engineer; this one came, changed some thai settings and it works again. No longer on channel 258, but you can find BVN. Once the TV is on BVN, the channel will return to BVN when the TV is restarted. If the TV is on a different channel, I can now put it back myself.
'Our' mechanic did not want any compensation for his help. He did have a new psi box with him (B.1700) but he didn't think it was necessary). Of course, after a hesitant refusal, he took a tip.

  14. John D Kruse says up

    Hallo,
I also went to “our” chang this morning just to be on the safe side.
He checked it on various “kongs”, but came to the conclusion
that there was insufficient or no signal from/for BVN. We know that.
The S2 setup box is not suitable for BVN because the S2 is only HD.

So all those cases in which it works are unclear to me, or it should already be done
from Thaicom 3, which runs a feed to Australia, etc. BVN reported
me that that signal strength is normally not applicable.
The signal from Thaicom 3 is adjusted and transferred to Thaicom 5C.
Turned off the OTA at eight o'clock this morning, but yes, the harm of it
the update was already done Saturday morning! Got the frequency on 3640
put. Then things changed: Channel 258 was now black instead of TEST on
channel Saradee. However, the message No Signal!
I'll just say that BVN itself will license Thaicom 5C
have to arrange or pay at the Broadcast Assocacion of Commission,
    that regulates such matters worldwide.

Same problem, since 4 months I have PSI dish with receivers. No BVN on 2 since April 258, but test channel. Go tinkering yourself, first switched from Thai to English after access code 0000 has been used. After this no BVN found in the channel list. Channel search again in satellite menu. Lots of channels added, looking for BVN, found without numerical channel number. This channel moved to place below 000 (minus 1). Everything saved, and happy again.

    • John D Kruse says up

      Hello Niels,

      good to read!

What type of PSI box do you have?
Still have a very old SX, left my first dish after a move.
There was another model PSI included. Can't do channel search right now.

      Thanks in advance,

      John2,

      Kram (Rayong)

Nils, followed your system, and indeed found BVN. Have it in front of me now in TV Channel list.
Below that you have a line All Satelllite and below that a row with Fav, lock,Skip, Move, and Edit.
Perhaps you can help further on this point? Many thanks in advance for that!

    Hallo,

am now also out of the problem, just not with PSI.
Spoke again this afternoon on the phone, and they are still holding on to the license
    BVN problem.

Have now been able to test an IPM, and that box displays BVN fine, buy a new one tomorrow.
