Had a booster injection today at the sports stadium on soi Chaiyapreuk in Pattaya / Banglamung. I had heard that this was possible without an appointment, so this morning around 08.30 am on the way to the Stadium, when I arrived there I saw that I was clearly not the only one who wanted to use the booster.

Hundreds of people were collected from the parking lot and asked to take place under tents on plastic chairs. Everyone was then discharged in groups and in the hall they also had to take a seat in the designated section and wait for instructions from the security present.

All in all, the wait took about 4 hours, but people could go outside to buy food at the many stalls in front of the hall. Eventually there was movement in the profession in which I found myself and they had to go to an initial check and issue a questionnaire (in English for foreigners, who were not many). After getting back in line and moving on chairs, another passport check and the list, I finally ended up with the vaccination nurse who placed the vaccination very correctly.

After half an hour of waiting I was able to leave with a Pfizer vaccination in my body, the booster was set. According to the announcement, this vaccination operation will last until December 30, after which it will be over.

The vaccination is free, you can download an app from the Banglamung hospital, create an account and you can find the official vaccination and, if necessary, prove it in the Netherlands or anywhere else. A nurse after the vaccination is helpful in downloading the app.

All in all it was a long wait but everything went well arranged, no problems seen. Congratulations to the organization!

Those boosters don't seem to do much.... but that doesn't matter either because omikron is becoming more and more like a cold.

    See here:
People with omikron are 50 to 70 percent less likely to end up in hospital than people infected with other corona variants, says the British Health Agency. Omikron often turns out milder due to a combination of built-up immunity and changes in the virus itself. The virus is better at infecting the airways, but is less likely to penetrate deep lung tissues.
The service emphasizes that the results are preliminary, and that the absolute number of hospital admissions can still rise considerably and that there are also signs that the boosters are rapidly diminishing in effect.

The reports surrounding the booster vaccine constantly contradict each other. To say that the omikron variant causes a simple cold is a dangerous statement.

I read in the (other) media that a booster does have its uses. Who is right I leave in the middle. I will certainly not express my opinion here on this blog as the truth.

I think that's fine, although someone takes about three to be sure and in six months another one, etc, etc. It's your own body so put what you think is good in it. Whether it is ultimately healthy….? That will become clear in the next 1 years.

Whether or not a booster is useful, I leave to the medical specialists.
I have also left the usefulness of my 5 rabies injections to the doctors.

Surprising in itself that many people are more influenced by social media, of which the origin of the posts are questionable to say the least, than by thousands of medical specialists who have done thorough research.

We also take the annual flu shots that are adjusted annually, as well as hepatitis A, cholerea, typhus, diphtheria, tetanus, polio.

In itself it is amazing how easily people are influenced by the mainstream media. Those syringes you mention are not experimental like MRNA. And have been around for more than 10 years. So the long term side effects are known. That is indeed an essential difference.

Nurse was nice when downloading the app. They wouldn't do that to me. Can you tell me more about that please?

The boosters, as far as I have read the information, cannot protect anyone from being infected with the Omikron virus.
The only thing that has already become visible in the UK and Israel is that a booster can at most help against a heavy turnover, while even the latter cannot yet be completely ruled out.
With most infections, the Omikron has a clearly milder course than with the Delta variant, only the enormous speed and the amount of daily infections can still push the health system to its limits among those who have not yet had a booster.
In any case, the booster is the only way to slow down the Omikron variant a bit before we may see an adapted vaccine on the market in May / June 2022.
