In Thailand, the government has a number of specialized ones Hospitals. In Isaan there is the Sirikit heart center in Khon Kaen and the Ubon Ratchathani the cancer center. Cancer research and treatment takes place in Ubon.

During the examination you can choose from a number of menus, as in many hospitals here. Every year I go for an extensive examination with consultation. A few weeks after the examination, the results are sent home in the form of a small booklet. If a suspicious case is detected, a call will be made for an additional consultation. Luckily I haven't experienced it yet.

The price for this test, including blood, urine, faeces, ECG and X-rays, is approximately 2000 Thbt. For women, it is more extensive and more expensive.

A new building opened this year. Examination and treatment are physically separated. Research and consultation takes place at level 5. The new building differs in no way from the Bangkok Hospital and similar private hospitals. Comfortable and spacious waiting areas, free coffee and soft drinks. Spic and span clean. No odor with food from outside. The research process is also efficient. It took me 3 hours in total. Doctors speak reasonable English.

All in all very satisfied.

And just south of Udon Thani the cancer center, also for the Isaan. You can find the Udon Thani Regional Cancer Center near Baan Nong Phai, kilometer marker 97/98 along the main road number 2.

You can also just have a cancer test done at the Udonthani Hospital. Had it done yourself in Oct 2018 and it costs less than 3000 b and it takes less than half a day. And you immediately have the result.
I myself had 4 times (tongue) cancer in 32 months, now 12 years clean.
So you don't have to go that far to have it examined, I think that most state hospitals do have it to investigate, so just ask in your place of residence (Province).
I have also been to Bangkok in 2008, also to Khon Kaen (many times)
Never at the Regional Cancer Center in Udon.

I have heard it said that people in Thailand are quite difficult about pain relief. Morphine and related should you really beg for?

      Dear Fred,

      Not so.
The fact is that the medicines that we have in the Netherlands are not
are available in Thailand and they do not have them because of costs.

I have been in hospital in Thailand a number of times and I was taken to that
looked at my medicines as if it were gold (which I had with me).

Then I was not allowed to take it, but what they had (555, 50 Babt per s.),
      otherwise it wouldn't work(555).

When I left the hospital I could just get morphine tablets and also
      get it without a prescription.

This concerns morphine in different doses (watch carefully what you swallow or do).
So regarding medicines you should be well informed and don't mess with it,
search the internet and be well informed.

      Kind regards Martin,

      Erwin

No, in the hospital you get morphine after an operation. I later had lower back pains and was just given opium pills. PILLS. Injecting morphine at home is, experienced by a terminal cancer patient, considerably more difficult here and there.

If you are talking about pain pills from the NSAID group (celebrex and related…) then you just get that. Pregabalin is also prescribed as normal.
