Embassy Bangkok Book Fair October 7, 2012
Following the Dutch Children's Book Week (3-14 October), the Embassy is organizing a book fair for young and old.
On Sunday afternoon, October 7, 2012, the Embassy will open its doors for book-loving Bangkok (14:00-17:00 hrs) with the theme of the afternoon: “Hello World! – About different cultures”.
The program of the book fair is currently still being worked on, but it will include a book market with stalls, a children's hour where readings are offered and fun games are offered, and a book auction where the most beautiful and interesting books are sold by auction. All this while enjoying a snack and a drink. The aim of the book fair is to raise as much money as possible for a charity or activity to be determined.
Books requested!
We need your help to make all this possible. We would like to be able to offer a beautiful and interesting collection of books during the book fair and would therefore like to ask you to make Dutch books for young and old (fiction, non-fiction, travel books, novels, chick flicks, children's books) available from your private collection for sale during the book fair. Initially, the Embassy will serve as a collection point for the books, but keep an eye on the Embassy website and the Embassy Facebook site for collection locations to be determined.
Books can be delivered until October 1st. If you would like to hand in books for the book fair, please contact Peggy Vissers at [email protected] . If you are interested in volunteering during the book afternoon, you can also contact us.
We also hope that you will be present in large numbers on Sunday 7 October 2012. Do not forget to register yourself and your children via [email protected] in connection with making an estimate of the number of guests. We hope to make it a pleasant, educational afternoon with lots of reading pleasure for young and old. See you soon!

For book loving Bangkok I read. It is amazing that the rest of Thailand is excluded from this.
Does this fair also include English-language books, or only Dutch-language books? In the latter case it will be a shabby mess I'm afraid. Oh, I now read that it only concerns Dutch-language books. Insane idea, which won't amount to anything except another cause for celebration for the Embassy staff.
